@CluelessCathy I also love your username! I’m almost done with my common app essay, but not even close to finishing the supplements… haha hopefully our procrastination is gone soon
I’m applying to Northeastern and Case Western for early action. Are you applying anywhere else for EA too?
And good luck to you also!!
Is anyone else feeling incredibly burnt out? I can’t even bring myself to study for school anymore.
Yes. @LikeThis All my friends are too. I was so burnt out last week between school and student council. And now I’m home recovering from surgery but I can already feel I’m going to be burnt out when i return. At least I already applied to college, that takes some is the pressure off.
@readingclaygirl Hope you are doing well.
@LikeThis Entirely. Physics is the thing I most love doing, but I don’t even have the energy to work in physics anymore.
Thank you. I am. @XoXdreamerXoX
I feel ya. I love Physics, and I have an assignment due on Monday, but every time I try to start it, I get burnt out. I hope this is purely due to fatigue from getting up so early and doing 7 different classes in one day and not so much Physics itself.
Anyways, I’m just trying to survive until December.
@pastalover0495 I’m applying to University of Michigan and a few SUNY schools early action. I was considering Northeastern too! I think I should do a little more research on it first, and then maybe apply regular decision in case Tufts doesn’t work out I was also thinking NYU for regular decision. Not sure what else… I just took the SAT again this October so hopefully my scores went up enough to consider some more
hey, is anyone here applying to YoungArts tonight? I was hoping they would give us a weekend extension like they gave us last year but it’s already 8 pm EST and no email :’(
I’m so burnt out. All I want to do is hang out with friends because this is the last year together.
I just sort of accepted I’m never going to see my friends again, so I don’t much mind not having time to spend with them.
Wow, I sound like a horrible person.
Haha do you not like them?
Submitted 1/2 of my early apps and finished recording my music supplements! This all happened within the last 2 days. I’m so exhausted.
Also, did anyone enter Siemens? I didn’t, but congrats to any semifinalists here
@shadyconcepts - Didn’t the extension come after the actual deadline last year? Or maybe I just received the email a day late, not sure. But yeah, decided last minute to submit an app again. I couldn’t go to YA week (NYC) last year because of SAT IIs, so definitely going this year! Thank god for the automatic-advancement.
I love them, but I came to terms with the fact that we’re all going separate ways a few months ago. I’m totally fine with it now.
But, to be honest, most of my “friends” have become real jerks this year. But I still feel as indifferent about the ones I love as I do about the ones that are jerks. I just got used to the idea.
Hey, a lot of you are probably already done your interviews; is there any advice I can get from you guys?
@glasshours the extension email actually came the evening of the deadline, and this year it came too!! literally 10 PM of tonight…oi. YoungArts really likes to see procrastinators struggle… so long story short I’m submitting by Sunday lol
Good luck to you too!
I’ll try to give you advice @qwerytiop but I realize my interview wasn’t typical- the admissions counselor really didn’t ask me many questions. But before my interview my GC, who used to be a college admissions officer, did a mock interview with me. She said find questions online and practice answers beforehand so you don’t seem nervous. Bring a copy of your resume and transcript. Think of a question or two to ask the interviewer, if it’s an alumi ask why they chose the college or what they felt the best part was.
@qwerytiop Depends…what college?
Thanks guys!
@XoXdreamerXoX My next one is for MIT!
I have a stuttering problem so I’m really worried right now XD
@qwerytiop I interviewed for MIT two weeks ago and it was just him asking me questions like why I want to go to MIT, my passions, and a little more about my school. Don’t worry, just relax. It’s more of a casual conversation than anything. Most of the interview was me asking questions and him answering them.
My EC and I were having a conversation about scholarships and I told him how one of my friends found several scholarships for me and my EC immediately jumped to the conclusion that we weren’t friends, but rather that we were dating. I had to kindly reject that notion. I love him; he’s my best friend…but no. We’re not compatible like that.
