High school class of 2016

Does anyone else honestly just feel surprised or amazed at themselves when you’re even able to type SOMETHING decent for an essay?

My goal is to finish apps before winter break. Sorry for the triple post!

@letmeseetheworld: I’m trying to finish everything before winter break as well! I’d like to be done by then.

Getting ready to submit to my early school is incredibly nerve-wracking. Reading about other hopefuls and their resumes look far more sophisticated compared to my mediocre one. Hate this comparison game, ugh.

@XoXdreamerXoX I have taken both Math II and Physics, so I might be of some help.

Although I don’t really remember all the stuff it covers so I will probably cover way more than what’s actually on the test.

(In both tests, you can get an 800 confidently with up to 7 questions wrong though, which is nice.)

Does anyone know how laggy commonapp becomes and when exactly does that happen?

Math II is mostly precalc, and physics is like basic basic stuff in Physics B

My GC said to ask colleges for fee waivers, colleges are telling me to ask my GC. This is so annoying!

@newjerseygirl98 lol, a couple of years ago I wanted to skip physics 1 to get into physics C, so my counselor told me to ask the physics teacher, but the physics teacher told me to ask the counselor. >.> Didn’t manage to skip that course, but the teacher was really good and told a lot of interesting stories and life lessons (instead of physics), so that was nice for me XD.

Just a few minor edits to my ea supps and ya girl will be ready to sumbit!

On a side note, if my test scores are low should i bother self reporting on the common app? Especially if I’m waiting for scores from Saturday’s ACT?

More specifically, if my current test scores are low or below the 50% range and the school requires me to send scores from all test dates, should I just not self report my scores?

I didn’t self report at all because it was told to me that it means nothing to them unless you send the official score reports, so I just did that.

Opinion question!

What is you guys’ opinion on teachers or other staff hugging students? About teachers of the opposite sex hugging students?

I didn’t really think about it much until I heard a few kids making a big deal about one teacher in the hall.

@XoXdreamerXoX I hug my favourite teachers all the time! But they’re all female teachers haha. I think it’s fine if it’s a teacher of the opposite sex as long as it’s a respectful hug.

For that whole hugging thing, I think it’s just depends on your environment. I go to a private school and it’s cool to hug teachers, but I’ve heard that it’s different for public school environments. I’m really not too sure on that topic xD

anyone applying to uw madison?

I hug my teachers on the last day of school…or the day before they quit their job. But my adviser hugged me today and I was totally okay with it (he’s only 26-ish…so, it wasn’t a creepy old guy). We were just both happy with what I’ve been doing lately academically and my barriers or whatever. Apparently those around me weren’t okay with it and my friend told me I have no respect for myself because I let him hug me. I guess it just depends.

@XoXdreamerXoX I think it’s fine, as long as the teacher isn’t being creepy.

I didn’t think it was wrong. I still don’t. I just don’t understand why some people make a big deal about it. I like seeing other perspectives.

Idk whenever something good or important happens I hug my teachers

Every time I see a a hug between a male teacher and female student, it has always been the student who initiated it and the teacher always does that little pat on the shoulder thing so it looks more friendly/encouraging than anything else. Not weird at all, imo

@XoXdreamerXoX honestly, sometimes people just need something to gossip about. If YOU were okay with it and comfortable, then you’re totally okay.

Adding final touches to Common App. I’m so nervous to submit!

@Almondjoy7 Yeah. It’s really my life anyway and therefore was insignificant to others.

Anyways, I have the same problem with my MIT app. I feel like I’m putting too much on the line to submit. I’ll have to Sunday, but for now, I’m far too nervous.
