@itsmyusername I don’t know what it’s for, but It’s called the Jean Fairfax Scholarship. I am in-state and it’ll give me $13,500 a year for four years (totaling about $54,000).
@2016senior Awaiting UNC decisions, as well! [-O<
I’ve not been contacted yet about any of my RD interviews. I’m becoming very concerned.
@AcceptableName so not the LSA one?
It’s actually $13,158 a year, not $13,500.
@ErenYeager It is the LSA one. I was also confused because I thought the scholarship gives LSA students $10,000 a year.
That’s a boatload of money!
@AMan236 I was actually quite surprised when I logged into wolverine access and saw it. I am also expecting another $40,000 scholarship for being a member of TRIO (just have to tell the director to send confirmation of my participation).
@AcceptableName I’m kind of confused about how LSA does scholarships? Like some private ones, like yours, and others from LSA itself? Any OOS?
@ErenYeager I was looking through this thread → http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1296539-jean-fairfax-scholarship-p1.html and it seems that OOS students can also receive the scholarship. I don’t really know how merit/private scholarships work for UMich.
Jean Fairfax/TRIO are from UMich itself, as far as I know. I got the Regents Merit Scholarship from them, but it’s only $1,500/yr so I’m gonna have to look for private ones too. @ErenYeager They send scholarship notifications out on a rolling basis, so you might have to wait a little longer
On the bright side, at least our chances of getting into our dream schools are higher than everyone’s chances of winning the lottery.
@glasshours What a burst of confidence and realization. I think a lot of us needed that. Thank you. xD
@glasshours But so are our chances of getting struck by lightning…
Worth watching Degrassi to win a bet?
@LordBendtner Like, totes.
Also (if anyone’s applying), Georgetown has extended their deadline until Monday 11:59 pm.
@Woandering …that was depressing.
Adding a few more schools to my list right now, because why not.
I just applied to Marist (Reach).
@newjerseygirl98 A few people from my school go to Marist. I have one friend who was accepted there early action and is most likely going there and another friend who is applying there. Plus the college my sister is going to is right down the road from there.
I also applied to: Temple, Gannon, & La Salle. I went from four to eight schools today.
My GC probably won’t be happy about the extra work…oh well.
