High school class of 2016

@DaPueo I’m going from the west coast to the east coast if everything works out. There’s one blanket my mom crochet for me this year for the explicit purpose of me taking it to college, and another one I bought in Mexico that’s important to me, so I’m definitely taking those two

@letmeseetheworld aaaaah congrats!

Also @glasshours my foam mattress topper is the best thing ever, omg. And my wedge pillow.
Aaaaah help I have to many things to take to college with me

I will chance anyone, but you gotta give me the info I listed above

But no lying like anyone has a thread count over a 1000

@XoXdreamerXoX - Me, a few months ago: “Thread count? You mean the number of threads on a CC forum?”

@wonderlanddd - What even is a foam topper HAHA

Okay so apparently the bedding industry in the US brings in $9 billion dollars a year, and sheets are $3 billion of that??? w h y???

@glasshours It’s like this layer of memory foam that makes every bed 200 times more comfortable and is way cheaper than a whole memory foam mattress

That’s not dorky! I spent all of last weekend watching move-in day videos, lol. @Tookme10mins

@glasshours rofl

@DaPueo I have none of those, but there aren’t many high-end shops in my area, so I just had to work with what I have. My hook is that my beddings are green, I heard that’s very rare and under-represented at top schools, do you think I can get in?

I’m applying to (night)stan(d)ford.

Has the discussion really turned in this direction?

@wonderlanddd Okay now I know what industry I’m going into if I don’t get into my colleges. Anyone want to join my bedding start up?

@XoXdreamerXoX It’s like how many threads are in each square inch of the sheets. The higher the better because it feels softer.

I’ll have you know, in order to considered worthy of even stepping into the dorm of a prestigious university, you MUST have at least one mink fur blanket; anything else and you risk being labeled some sort of freak.

In addition, I find the appropriate number of pillows to be your age divided by two, and the appropriate thread count is your height in centimeters multiplied by 3 (rounded to the nearest 100 obviously).

@DaPueo Does mentioning the fabric color of the bedding (400 thread) being the same colors of the school help in the admissions process?

@kuriosmind Im sorry but no a green blanket isnt a hook. Most students have 4+ different blanket colors to apply there.
And w t h did that mean? (night) stan(d)ford
Are you saying nightstand?

A 400 thread aint getting you nowhere near an elite school, im sorry. Even with the right colors. Shoot for a 600 with the right colors and youre golden
@AcceptableName

@DaPueo Well good thing I’m only 12 years old! I still have time to accumulate blankets… Or is it already too late?!

Haha that was the closest I can relate a bedroom item to a school. Nightstand -> Stanford :stuck_out_tongue:

@DaPueo I have a 900 thread count, Egyptian cotton, two blankets and a king sized bed. But I spilled nail polish on one of my pillows freshman year and it’s stained. Will this tiny stain (about the size of a quarter) ruin my chances at the Ivies? :-S

@Acusio That’s not fair! There are people who got fur blankets from their parents and grandparents. I earned my good ol’ cotton blankets all through my own effort.

@wonderlanddd Almost certainly. Frankly I am surprised you were even allowed to apply.

@kuriosmind Life isn’t fair, I’m sorry.
