High school class of 2016

@kuriosmind go play with some legos. You dont need CC for a more years

@wonderlanddd Unless you go raising some red flags in the admissions process, you ar all G. Just dont report the stained pillow because you dont need it

@DaPueo Please. I need to be prepared when the time comes. I’m also taking classes at my community college like “Bedding 101” and “How to fluff pillows”, do you think that will give me an advantage?

Dont go fluffing pillows just to fluff them. They have to mean something to you.
But, CONGRATS at taking CC classes at such a young age. Learn how to make your bed and design your room because both are extremely important when applying for college
@kuriosmind

@newjerseygirl98 Lol :slight_smile:

My job is claiming I left two days this week, when I only did once. I confirmed this with my mom, but my job is showing I was clocked out after two hours, but it was NOT me. So, they’re basically refusing to pay me. :((

@newjerseygirl98 Oh no! Are there any coworkers that can prove you were there? Is there a surveillance camera at your workplace?

There’s a sureveliance camera over every register, but I doubt they’ll check. Two managers said I wasn’t, although neither of them were even there Sunday! My mom will have to call them. :frowning: @kuriosmind

@newjerseygirl98 I smell ignorance coming from the managers. They don’t wanna check because they know they are wrong.

I have to live snapchat an event for the organization I volunteer for today and I have no clue how to snapchat. Help.

Do you all have a defined order to your list – first choice, second choice, etc?
I’ve been trying hard not to, but it’s really difficult to not fantasize about getting into my reaches…

1: Texas A&M or MIT idk
2: Harvard
3: Cornell
4: Notre Dame
5: Yale
6: Dartmouth
7: Columbia

@XoXdreamerXoX have you gotten into any of those?

@infiniteCircle Lol, only Texas A&M and a likely from Notre Dame.

Essentially, that list could shrink to 2 choices. Although it doesn’t really matter what school I like because I’ll go to whichever will cost me less over 4 years.

My list was:

  1. University Of Michigan
  2. Michigan State
  3. Grand Valley State University
  4. Michigan Tech

I didn’t apply to any OOS schools because the tuition for OOS scares me.

My list is currently:

  1. UCSD/GWU
  2. UC Davis
  3. Tufts
  4. American
  5. Cal Poly SLO
  6. Northeastern
  7. UCSB
  8. Sac State
I’m going to be hearing back from 2 of my top 3 schools next week I think which is very nerve-wracking!

Hi guys… I’m in a bit of a dilemma and hoping to get some advice on deciding on a college to attend next year. Basically, these are my choices:

  1. My (very good) state flagship. It's a really large school with so many opportunities and exactly what I want in a school. I've been in love with it since I visited in the fall. The only problem is that it'll cost me about $20-25000 per year (including room and board). However, I am nearly certain that I will love attending this school for the next four years.
  2. Smaller state school that is honestly not that great and I don't love it. I can't really see myself attending it like I can with the first. BUT, it'll only cost me about $8000 per year since I'd be commuting, which is a downside in itself since I hate driving but it's just too close to my home to justify another $12000 or so for room and board.

Sorry for such a long post, I’m just struggling a lot with this and I’m sure at least a couple of you are going through something similar?

@JamieH If your family can comfortably afford school 1, I’d go for that. From what you’ve described, it seems to be a better fit. But I’d only pick it if you can afford it.
Have you visited both (preferably on a weekday when school is in session)? If not, see if you can. That’ll help you with your decision.

@gonewiththeair I have visited both and just felt so “at home” at school 1. But I’d be in so much debt after I graduate, I’m not sure if it even makes sense to go there.

In my heart, I know school 1 is for me, but it just doesn’t seem to make sense financially. My parents make too much to qualify for much financial aid at all, but they can’t really afford to pay much for the school either. Like, the main issue for me is money.

  1. Harvard/Upenn
  2. Princeton/Stanford
  3. Northwestern
  4. USC
  5. UCLA
  6. UCSD
  7. UCI
  8. UCSB
  9. SDSU
  10. SLO
  11. Berkeley Got into my 6, 8, 9, 11, and 12 so far

@JamieH Have you applied for local scholarships that might help lessen the cost of your first choice?
