High School Class of 2017

@imbep49 Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy – SAT Suite

I think I’m gonna go into this PSAT with NO prep whatsoever. I can’t find time. The amount of homework I get is insane. When I think I’m done I realize there is more to do. I guess I’ll see how it goes on Wednesday.

but it’s easier than what the supposed new SAT will be like? I have been doing Khan Academy’s New SAT prep for the PSAT, and I seem to be doing slightly worse on a questions-wrong-per-passage basis

Is it just me or is the sample curve that CB gave out RIDICULOUSLY generous? At least for M/W.

How are you guys doing on Khan Academy practice sets?

also, when do we get our psat results back?

@Cornbread1999 In the past it’s been mid-December

R.I.P. I had some extra time so I did the PSAT practice test and I got a 1280… I was looking back on the questions and most of my mistakes were because I wasn’t fully reading the question. During lunch tomorrow I might review the questions I got wrong, obviously I need to be more careful when I take the test on Wednesday.

@Greninja It’s okay, I only scored a 1320, which isn’t that high since my verbal was awful (590), but yes I’m reviewing questions.

@cornbread1999 Not great. I feel like the new SAT’s math section is a million times hard than the old SAT/current ACT’s math section. I majorly slacked off in Algebra II last year, too, so I’m having to play catch-up on some things. I got like a 1230 or something awful like that on my first practice test a few weeks ago.

I feel like the CR and Writing questions are easier, but the math is a lot harder. I was like 1390 but I rushed because of other homework I had to do. Yesterday, I went to UMD for their open house, since it’s in state and my parents are making me apply to 1 state school. I was impressed by the campus and the different majors, like Neurobiology and Physiology, which looks really neat. Probably going to go to Delaware next because of their Honors College.

It’s fall break for me and all my friends are on vacation. Here I am studying for the PSAT and the ACT and getting low scores :frowning:

Good luck to everyone on their PSAT tomorrow! I’m taking mine on the 28th  because of my fall break.

Why is everyone here so weird, all ya’ll smart alecs saying that the new PSAT math is harder; seriously it’s way much easier. It’s the verbal section that kills me. Yo @greeneggsandsam9 You live in MD? I live in MD lol. Man the cutoff here is so darn high.

How do you guys know the cutoff for the new one?

Indeed, good luck to everyone taking the PSAT tomorrow.

Good luck @jjlundy Does anyone have any last tips for CR (those who are scoring really high in that section)?

If I want to be national merit semifinalist in CA, what score should I aim for?

Anyone have tips for math?

Wishing those of you taking the PSAT tomorrow the best of luck!

Remember to pace yourself. Read the question carefully, and always answer what is being asked! Don’t overthink the test – you got this.
