It’s actually kind of a stress reliever for me to not be able to take the old SAT again. I have to learn to be content with my relatively low math score. Every time I get the urge to register for the old SAT just to go for a higher superscore, I remember that it’s too late to register
I’m extremely anxious right now. Part of me thinks that I did really well on it and the other part of me thinks that I did horribly. The math curve excites me, though because I know I tanked that section (mainly the no calculator part). I’m going to check my guidance counselor to see if they have some sort of early access.
Also, did the glitch give people their scores early? Or is there something that I don’t know about?
@foliontai Great job! Did you get the TASP email, and what was your sophmore PSAT score?im still trying to find out if TASP used last years psat scores or not :-SS
@am7311 College board tweeted that they used the 2014 scores, but I’ve found contradictory evidence from other posts in the 2015 PSAT thread so I’m not sure
hello all, current 17-er here. How many of you guys are actually taking the NEW Sat? I feel like no one on here is taking that one, lol.
I’ll take it if I have to for National Merit haha, but otherwise no.
Does the old SAT work for National Merit?
@glassflowers I believe so.
Has anyone gotten anything from duke TIP? I thought it may be because of PSAT scores but then I looked at the prices in the booklet and they might be targeting based on income rather than scores
@neoking lol i just want my 2200 and ill be fine. I dont see studying for the new SAT as too hard for you since you’re already up there with the old SAT…maybe go over some math concepts and familiarize yourself with the writing section?
@neoking my guidance counselor tried to dissuade me from taking the old SAT lmao. She literally did the exact opposite of what your counselor did…
@YoohooAddict Hey under pressure we can all do pretty silly things. I dont think your mistakes compare to the silly math mistakes that I made on the Dec SAT lol
At this point, I don’t even care about my PSAT scores because I know I won’t make it for NM
@Cece0499 So does she prefer you take the new SAT or ACT?
@sprights I did! It must be based on income
@sprights I got the Duke TIP book in the mail today. My dad’s a doctor and I checked the box with my family’s honest income, so yeah, they might be targeting income haha
T-minus 6 hours and 40 minutes til I find out my fate
lol am i the only one who doesn’t actually care about my psat score? ahhh school tomorrow is gonna be rough, everyone’s going to be asking smh
@wanderlustgal I feel the same way. I doubt I’d end up at a big NM school even if I did get national merit, and other than that it doesn’t count for much – I’m already all finished with my testing! not excited for the subtle-but-not-so-subtle score exchange tomorrow.
Hey guys, I’m a newbie here, but I just want to say that I’m half anxious/half nervous about getting my PSAT scores. I don’t think I studied enough, but I’m still hoping to do at least slightly well. Hoping I won’t dread the score exchanges in class tomorrow.
Welcome @mad1623! I hope you’re happy with your PSAT score once you get it tomorrow, and I totally understand your nerves. I was lucky enough to get my score during the brief glitch period yesterday, so I’m no longer a nervous mess but I definitely was at the time.
