@natat13 ah, thanks! Found it
To all who scored above 200 on the Index: You will still probably receive Commendation, which is pretty darn good
@tigerman333 I scored 1360 and still scored a 206 Index. You will probably be 204/205 ish and the projected IL cutoff on Prepscholar is 203. So you may squeeze in as a semifinalist!
Where did you find the projections? What is Ohio’s?
@JuicyMango I got the same score as you and I live in California. There’s still a chance we could be semi-finalists. According to the concordance tables released by the CB (https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/psat-nmsqt-preliminary-concordance-tables-2015.pdf), a 1470 is a 222-224, which would’ve qualified last year. So if the cutoff is lower this year than it was last year, as many are predicting, we could make it.
@dsi411 That’s great news! But the thing is, the SI weights verbal more which throws off any kind of statistics. I think we still have a chance, but it’s hard to say for sure with all of these changes.
Sorry, my school hasn’t told us anything about national merit…I have a 214 index and the Maryland cutoff is apparently 209, but what does that mean?
Anyone know when they will release the cutoffs to qualify for national merit?
The Maryland cutoff is estimated to be 209. They don’t get released until September. This means you have a decent chance to be a National Merit Semifinalist. @bfc2017
@greeneggsandsam9 That would be awesome if I made it. My friend got a 1460 so he’ll definitely make it then.
First off, I’m so happy for everyone who got great scores!! Knowing this is college confidential, most of you will probably be NMSF.
However my scores are still not in and I’m extremely worried. I’m a student in SoCal and whenever I try to receive scores my school id does not work. I tried to get a code from my counselors but they all have no idea about the online stuff and insist to wait for the paper reports to mail in a few weeks. I tried to call CB, but of course they are receiving too many calls at all hours of the day and I cannot get through. This is really stressing me out, did my test not get scored or something? Did I mess up my name or info and they canceled or don’t even have my record on file??? I thought my school was just late to receive scores but my friend said online she could view hers just fine. AGH WHAT DO I DO?!
@TheLandOfArielle did you log into your college board account correctly? If you logged in, your scores should be up. If they’re not, I don’t know where they’d be.
@TheLandOfArielle According to CB’s twitter, if it doesn’t work when you try and put in your student ID, try waiting for the email with your access code. Apparently the emails with codes will be sent out in waves until Saturday morning. And if you don’t get the email by Saturday, you can try calling CB on Monday. Hopefully things will have calmed down by then and you will get through to someone who can help you.
Where are people finding the estimated cut-off numbers for the class of 2017?
@foliontai Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the info! Haha that makes me feel alot better.
@elisewhitney http://blog.prepscholar.com/national-merit-semifinalist
They estimated the PSAT cutoff scores.
@athenanv13. Thank you
1520 .-. Although I knew I had done well, I hadn’t expected this good of a score. I may take the new SAT after all.
@TheLandOfArielle I live in Nor Cal and I got my score code in the email–do you remember which email you put down on the PSAT? That could be it. It was a problem for one of my friends.
I only got 1460 with an index of 219 and live in California, do you think I’ll make it?
IL’s cutoff is 203. I’m at 200 so goodby merit
