@Faultystart @yuccatree @neoking I want to thank you guys for helping me out! I really appreciate it! I still haven’t made a decision yet since there’s still a lot of tension here, but I think it will work out in the end (hopefully). I honestly think the main reason is the fact that they don’t want me to leave and they’re using all these other factors to mask that. MIT is the dream, but we’ll see what happens.
I was accepted to Yale, Columbia, and Brown today!! I was legitimately expecting three rejections, so I’m shocked.
Thank you all for being so amazing throughout this whole process! I can’t believe it’s finally over…
@eyrar99 OMG I’m so proud of you! I know you asked me to read your essays a while ago, and I still remember them as being some of the best I read. Wow, this is great!
Update: I got into Brown
If I don’t get into Stanford (lul) I’ll be choosing between Georgetown SFS and Brown!! Couldn’t be happier.
In at Harvard and Columbia. Rejected Princeton. I still have Stanford REA, so I’m definitely having such a hard time choosing. Thanks everyone for everything!

Boyfriend was waitlisted at Cornell, denied from Columbia and Princeton. Still so proud of him. He’s now deciding mostly between Michigan and Northeastern (but still hoping for getting off the waitlist at GT).
Now that this is all over…here’s my final tally.
Accepted: 3 state schools (including flagship with honors college + full ride), Tulane, USC, Notre Dame, and Penn
Waitlisted: Uchicago
Rejected: Harvard, Stanford, Emory
I literally would not have imagined that I would end up with a full ride at my state flagship (which was a goal of mine) and acceptances at even one “elite” college!! I an AA female (URM) with a 31 ACT (32 superscored), 3.8 UW (2 Cs, 4 B’s, 40 A’s)/ 4.2W. 9 AP classes with all 4s and 5s. No super important ECs. So there were definitely people who had better stats that me, which is why I think I owe a lot to my essays. The interesting thing is that the colleges that I just applied to solely for prestige (meaning I wasn’t really interested in them), I was rejected from. It’s all hindsight, but I now know that Harvard, Stanford, and Uchicago would definitely not have been good fits for me. So incredibly excited because I’m either going to Notre Dame, Penn, or accepting that full ride at my flagship!! Congrats to everyone else on your wonderful acceptances, and even if you’re not happy with your results, know this: it’s WHAT you do, not WHERE you go!
