High School Class of 2018

@nyuhopeful44 I would say talk to him as soon as possible. If the whole class got low scores, then he would have to exempt the grade or it would look bad on him. If the whole class fails, I’d blame the teacher as there are many students in each class that usually pass every test. You know you have to backtrack and reteach something as a teacher when those students failed the test. In this case, the whole class.

OMG it’s snowing right now! We are currently under winter weather advisory. I hope school closes. I have an essay due tomorrow for English and a math test. It’s only a little more than dusting, but I think it’s enough to close schools or at least hour day. People on Twitter are already saying #closepwcs

@ak2018 must be nice haha

on an unrelated note, does anyone think it’s ridiculous for an aspiring engineer (me) to be taking ap bio instead of ap chem next year? I really don’t like chem at all whereas I find bio really interesting and i know I’d enjoy it more and do better. That being said, I know chem is probably a much more important class than bio for engineering and aspiring engineers. Should I just bite the bullet and take chem or should I do what I enjoy more?

@gormar99 I’d take AP Bio unless you really want the potential college credits from AP Chem. Really in high school you are supposed to be exploring your intrests and be exposed to many different things although people here (myself included :P) like to jump the gun.

Our semester just ended today and my final grades are:
Chemistry Honors: 95
AP Physics I: 93
French III Honors: 94
Pre Calc Honors: 97 (I think)
Art Foundations: 100
English II Honors: 96
AP World History: 96

Overall I’m pretty happy. My resolutions for next quarter are to get at least a 97 in chem and French, a 95 in physics, a 98 in English, and stay the same in all others. Ironically chemistry and French are two of my easiest classes, I just tend to not pay attention and do homework :P.

Anyone intresting in being grade buddies to drill each other about their grades and annoy them until they do better because that’s what I need lol

I’m probably getting my course card next week.

@ak2018 I wish it was snowing right now. It’s snowing in Maine on Saturday, though. All the big storms happen on the weekends…
I feel bad for people who live in places where it doesn’t snow. They must have to go to school a lot more than us peeps who get snow.

@gormar099 As an aspiring engineer myself, I don’t think its’s ridiculous at all. It likely means that you’re more likely to go into fields of engineering that include Biology. So probably Bio-engineering would be a good match, if you like working will cells. There are four major branches of engineering are civil, mechanical, chemical, and electrical. Bio-engineering falls under chemical.

@frazzledazzle Yeah were suppose to get snow Friday afternoon and Sunday night too. They haven’t closed school yet. I’m just patiently waiting. :-w

I don’t think there’s much chance of me ever getting a snow day considering I live in Florida and its 57 degrees lol

@av2222 I’m jealous. I am doing homework in bed because it is so darn cold.

What does “bump” mean

bring
up
my
post

@ak2018 @madeline25 thank you guys for your input

@av2222 i’m in the same boat as you, haha I have never had a snow day in my life. I’ve had countless hurricane days but no snow days.

@musicismylife222 It’s what someone posts to ‘bump’ their thread to the top of the list (since it’s based off of most recent posts) so more people will see it and hopefully respond.

@av2222 Haha yeah I’m from that region of the country too. My horse back riding instructor just cancel Saturday’s lesson because it is going to be 37 and she says it might rain lol. We are not used to the cold! (Well I’ve been up in the mountains in the northwest the past weekend so it doesn’t really bother me)

@Phantomlink I was typing when you posted and I knew it was an acronym but couldn’t for the life of me think of what it was!

@av2222 same I live in socal it barely even rains here and it’s el nino

OMG I was on Twitter and this one guy made a fake account for my English teacher. We’re all on Twitter complaining about the 1984 essay. Which apparently, we all haven’t started yet lol. We all waited until the last minute. I love my class.

Also the amount of tweets complaining about our county waiting to close is high and they are funny. :))

And we have NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! THAT MEANS I CAN GO TO SLEEP, INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT THIS ESSAY AND MY MATH TEST. IT’S LIT!

when you guys have snow days how are they made up because we’ve never had an off-day because of weather reasons or even an unplanned off day for that matter

@ak2018 Yay!
@BucketsUCSC We have ‘built in’ days that would be like teacher workdays that we have off or smaller holidays for weather stuff. If nothing happens, we get the days off. If for some reason we have to miss school, we go on those days.

We totally should have a snow day yesterday, but nooooo, road conditions have no effects on students.

I’m a little salty about it.

@BucketsUCSC Where I live, we have built in extra days that snow days factor in for. If there is a blizzard or something that we are out for like a week, they either add days at the end of the year or take away some of the days we have off.
