@OneNormalKnight @preciousdiamond What if the award is outside of school that requires nomination? How do I get them to be aware of the award.
@apple1893 I’m not sure - what award are you thinking of? You’d probably have to show excellence in that area, above your school level.
@apple1893 I don’t even know where I’d begin. :))
@tonyk16 I agree with @apple1893
@averagebean I got a 96% matched for Virginia Tech, my DREAM school. I feel like that’s somewhat inaccurate as I only enter the information I could, which was good, but not that much.
@joyce1517 Yay! I’d love to visit California. I’ve never been actually. Also, I’m doing shot-put. I actually just bought a new pair of blue Nike running shoes and blue shorts. As you can tell I LOVE the color blue.
@neptuna Same thing with Virginia Tech. It always makes me question how far I’m willing to go just to go to a college just for a certain major. I’m constantly thinking about life. I’ve probably spent a total of 5 days researching colleges. Can this be considered a hobby I can put on my college applications? :))
Also, I’m finally going to be doing my first group science project ever.
So at my school, I’m enrolled in the Biotechnology program, which is the only reason why I’m able to attend my school. I don’t really like Biotechnology, but I do like Robotics and Engineering. I’m mainly going to my school for the atmosphere it has, rather than the atmosphere at my nearest high school. I live about 17 miles away from my school and it’s in another city. I’m able to stay after school and go home by riding the bus to a bus stop that is about a little 1 mile away from house. On days that I don’t stay after school, I take my regular bus home to a bus stop a little less than a mile from my home. The after school bus only goes to certain stops.
Anyways, just wanted to tell you about that part.
I’ll talk more about my science project when I get home, I’m staying after for track. Track events were cancelled today due to a little bit of rain, but field events are still going on. See ya later.
@apple1893 Do you mean like national things like big events or programs people hold in Washington DC/Columbia University/Harvard? I got nominated for some of them by one of my teachers. I wasn´t actually aware of them until I found the packets in the mail. I guess you could make a subtle reference by emailing your teachers a list of the awards and programs you´re interested in, and asking her if they would consider them for their students.
@ak2018 Did practice already start for you? My track practice doesn’t till the 28th.
@apple1893 Glad I’m not alone!
@preciousdiamond I can relate! I’m such a worrier. I’ve been doing this sort of thing since 7th grade. I wanted to be a software engineer in the Greenwich borough of London (so specific) and planned out my budget and everything.
@ak2018 Seriously, I would put that down on my college apps if I could. I devote so much time to making sure I don’t fail in life, ironically making it so I get behind on schoolwork.
To all those track people (I’m not sure if you’re on a school team or part of a competitive club) but are you guys going to the Stanford competition? It’s international ayyy
Going to lose my life for the next month while March madness is going on…
I went to the Stanford race last year and there were two heats for girl milers and I was in the fastest one, but ironically, I’m much slower than I was in freshman year and so I don’t think I’ll be fast enough to go this year.
This year I’m slower, so it’s funny because I’ve gotten the exact same time as my try outs in the two races I’ve raced since then. I got the EXACT same time for all three races this season.
so you many of you guys do track, that’s great! I would join track but I don’t think i have enough endurance for that. Anyone on the varsity or club soccer team? Varsity soccer and cheerleading are my two main sports but i’m most likely going to omit cheerleading from my apps since i know some people find it ‘demeaning’ :-?
@neptuna Oh I had my life alllllllllll planned out in seventh grade! I was going to be a graphic designer I think?
Pretty sure in 7th grade I wanted to be a “rock star” not even gonna lie
I have some good news: my librarian from my old middle school is coming to my school next year. She just got the job! So excited for her
@neptuna I wanted to be an engineer in the 7th grade, and I still do. In the 5th grade, I thought I wanted to be a teacher. Lol nope! :))
Do you guys think you’ll get into your dream school?
^That’s great!
I wanted to be an astronaut… and I still wouldn’t mind being one.
my dream school has just upset and rekt baylor today
