You guys, Iām genuinely upset over the fact that I have a /good/ grade in APUSH. My grade is 30% ridiculously easy tests and 70% essays/FRQs/other projects, so itās definitely not that hard to get an A. But likeā¦itās too high. Iām going to purposely get a C on my next test just to bring it down. For an AP class, it looks much better to have an A instead of an A+ (same GPA value) on your transcript, at least in my opinion.
I havenāt heard back from Cornell or RPIā¦ So, gotta wait lol.

Iāve been taking SAT Math 1 practice tests all break. I went from a 530 to a 630. Hopefully by the end of break Iāll have 730 (have one more week).

My weekend is really busy because my choir has been rehearsing to sing with Eric Whitacre as our conductor on Tuesday. He is HUGE in the choir/orchestra/band world. Iām so excited for this concert. We rehearsed with him yesterday and he let us ask him questions afterwards. We have another rehearsal scheduled for today and I canāt wait. We still donāt know why he would want to sing with high schoolers instead of professionals. He said its because we still give our performances everything we have in us because they havenāt become paid gigs? Forget about the reason. This is once in a lifetime for most of us!!! X_X
@averagebean @Hamlon To me a 98-100 in a class like APUSH shows that it wasnāt actually as rigorous as it was supposed to be, especially if you donāt get a 5 on the exam. Itād make college admissions suspicious of grade inflation. Thatās just how I see it, though.
@Hamlon OMG Thatās so awesome!!! I love Eric Whitacre. Weāre playing October for MPA in Band, and weāre also looking at Equus for a possible end of year concert songā¦ Youāre so lucky haha
@neptuna Iām hoping for a 3 on AP Spanish lang, and a 4/5 (really want 5ās but Iāll be happy with 4s) on Environmental Science, Seminar, and World.
I got a 5 on human geography last year, but that was an easy exam, so Iāll just have to wait and see!

@neptuna just get a 5 and youāre fineā¦ I have a 98 in APUSH and Iām not sweating it. Donāt sabotage your GPA for no reason.
@jakejake637 October and Sleep are my favorite Whitacre pieces. I played October in Orchestra and the cello part is amazeballs! Now I get to sing Sleep with one of my favorite contemporary composers as my conductor. My friend was joking about snipping off a piece of his hair to pay for our college funds. :))
Heās laidback too. Someone asked him if anyone ever told him he looked like Sawyer from Lost. His response was āYeah, your mom.ā =))
@gormar099 Oh no, Iām definitely not planning on doing that. 92-97 is an A and 98-100 is an A+, but theyāre both worth 4.0 (5.0 weighted). I donāt have high hopes of getting a 5, so Iām not wanting to put any grade inflation on display if that makes sense. I swear Iām not crazy lol
@jakejake637 I get you. I really want 5ās, but Iāve never taken any AP exams before so I have to be realistic. I just hope I donāt end up with 2ās. Good luck and make sure to review!!

@neptuna just an fyi, to not get a 5 on an ap exam, you need like below 75% of the possible points, so it really isnāt too hard to get a 5 if youāre prepared.
@averagebean my grade deflating school is the complete opposite my WHAP teacher puts up in our class thye list of kids who have gotten 5ās and its about a third of the class every year however only about 5 kids get an A each semester so getting an A or even a high B virtually guarantees you a 5 on the test
