Has anyone been in their school’s gifted program?
Also, have any of you watched “Don’t Stay In School!”?
@ak2018 I watched the music video
Welcome! @Abbiegalie I should have introduced myself before I posted away! lol. So have any of you heard back from any summer programs this year? I’ve applied to a hospital to volunteer for the summer and I should be contacted around the next two weeks.
@ak2018 Nope! My school doesn’t have them sadly. We only have dual enrollment chem and AP Lit. That kind of sucks but oh well
@preciousdiamond I’m waiting to hear from four: MIT, Cornell, RPI, and an internship. I am super scared? Did you have to fill out your academic information?
@preciousdiamond I applied to 3 internships.
@HelloThereHola @ak2018 Maybe tumblr? It’s easy to organize with tags and there’s already a pretty big “studyblr” community. Unfortunately it may be blocked on school wifi/devices.
I haven’t looked into any summer programs because I’m under the impression that they all cost money unless you get a scholarship. I will be volunteering at summer camps and organizing an event of my own, though.
All I have is being part of a hospital board and hopefully starting my own basketball tournament
I mean camp for kids
@apple1893 Yeah, it’s been pretty controversial.
@HelloThereHola It’s fine.
@OneNormalKnight I wouldn’t have thought of Tumblr. :))
@apple1893 Nope! The only thing I had to put was my school name and some recommendations.
@Kelvin82 That’s great!
@OneNormalKnight I actually think Weebly would be good too. And it’s not blocked.
@ak2018 me neither :))
@ak2018 My car was around $60K ish. It was my dad’s car and he recently got a new one so I took this one. The car I’ll buy for myself would probably be a Corvette Stingray but I think I’ll be driving my Lexus for quite awhile. Most sports cars look reeeeally tacky to me but for some reason, I really like the Corvette. My upgraded car after the Corvette would be the Mercedes-Benz SLS because doors. THE DOORS. It’s pretty classy for a sports car and I like classy cars. Idk about you but Lamborghinis look kinda plastic.
And, yes, I was in my junior high’s gifted and talented program. I had to take like 3 IQ tests looll but I got in. Universities don’t care about junior high anyway so oh wells.
Thanks for the SAT advice! I think only the standard SAT is available here but I’ll see.
@averagebean You’re welcome!
@averagebean totally agreed that the SLS is so damn beautiful. But for 225k there are lots of other things I’d rather do. You could break that money down into like an E-class, a Range Rover, and a Corvette or any other sports car, and still have some money to spare. Honestly though, I just want to have a Mercedes when I’m older. I think they’re so damn classy and beautiful.
OK so I have a challenge for you guys. For at least one day, make your first choice college your profile pic.
@gormar099 That’s true ): Maybe getting one secondhand would lower the price point a bit but for one in decent condition, you’re looking at around $170K at the lowest for an older model which is still veeeeeerryyy expensive. If only I was married to Bill Gates’ son ahhhh
@gormar099 I saw SLS and thought Space Launch System smh
