High School Class of 2018

Strongest- world history, and honors English
Decent- biology (because of the teacher)
Worst- geometry (common core )

I really hate geometry because I live in NY so we have to take these exams called regents that are basically really long SAT subject tests

Strongest: AP Stat, H Pre-Calc, AP Gov
Decent: H Chemistry, Leadership, H Global Explorations
Weakest: H English 10, H French 3

Are any of you doing cool things over the weekend?
I think I’m going to get new spikes for the outdoor track season. I bruised my heels baaad triple jumping in my sprinting spikes so I might get a more versatile spike since I don’t want to drop money on two pairs.

@averagebean Prom is this weekend for me.

@averagebean study for those AP exams :((

@nyuhopeful44 @averagebean SAME! AP studying-all day everyday :(( :-B ~X(

I just back from my track meet. I did okay.

I got back from my meet and am exhausted. I ran the 1500m and the 800m. In the 1500m I can 2nd out of ten runners and in the 800m, I came 4th out of ten. Overall, I am satisfied.

Also, goodbye Kobe Bryant, your presence has been a blessing.

@averagebean Golf tournament and driving practice. I test for my license a week from tomorrow!

@ak2018 @nyuhopeful44

I’m not the only one. 3 of my friends are gonna do it. Senior year I want to do Peer Counseling but I don’t know if it’s really worth it.

I honestly feel like I made the right choice, but there is hardly prep books for IB and clearly IB isn’t SAT-friendly. I called UCLA Undergrad Admissions and spoke with a advisor and told me that UCLA doesn’t award the 30 units and that it was only for like a UC like UCSD. But I think I didn’t mention the score so that’s why she assumed it just the 30 units.

So at this point, I just want to stick through it.

@cxprus Peer Counseling is essentially just being a teacher’s aide. It gives you a chance to connect with a teacher(reccomendations?) and a chance to relax.

Worst. Day. Ever. I had to do a presentation and poem today for English and it was HORRIBLE!!! I had to restart my poem twice and by the third time, my eyes were tearing and throat closing up. It was awful… I THINK I said my poem correctly, but who knows…I don’t remember… It was so embarrassing!!! I never have stage fright like that! Sure a little nervous, but it always turns out perfectly fine!! I can’t help but think what everyone’s saying… People told me I did great but that’s such a big lie… So sad now…

@sewin2music I know that feel, It happens to everyone at least once in awhile… But sorry about your day, don’t think about it too much. All you can do now is move on and do better than today… (I suck at advice giving sorry )

@sewin2music This does happen to everyone, so please don’t feel embarrassed! You probably did fine, so don’t worry about that either. And for what others are saying, don’t worry about the haters (if there are any)!

Does anyone here happen to know why both India and Pakistan are allowed to have nuclear weapons?

@hypsterical lmao I’m so bad at current events so I can probably not say anything without sounding like an idiot. But who would be preventing them from having those weapons? There’s no ruler of the universe that could say no…
Yeah I’m more of a science person :smiley:

@nyuhopeful44 lol same, but my history teacher challenged me (and I shall never back down from a good challenge). But only certain countries are allowed to have make nuclear weapons and enrich uranium-238, but I’m having trouble finding out why the P5 (U.S, China, France etc.) allowed Pakistan and India to have nuclear power even though the 2 countries have conflict

You guys… today was the worst day ever. I stayed after school to work on a project with class mates and they insisted on me staying to go to play practice with them. I had went to the first practice for it to be on crew, but I ended up getting a job and had to quit because I couldn’t do both. I told them that the director of the play (and choir teacher) would get mad at me if I went, but they insisted assuring me everything would be fine. I ended up going and hoping everything would be alright (I think I only missed one practice and they didn’t do anything anyway). When the director saw me, she screamed, “What are you doing here Tony?” and while I was replying trying to explain she interrupted and yelled, “I don’t want to hear it. Get out.” Keep in mind that I don’t drive yet and my book bag was in my friend’s car. It was 6:30 and practice wasn’t over until 9. I didn’t know what to do and ended up sitting down in the hallway somewhere and cried. I guess I’m over sensitive. The worst part was that she screamed it in front of over 50 people.

@sewin2music @Hellotherehola If you ever feel bad about yourself, remember that I was at the starting blocks once during a really big track meet in Colorado. I felt a really wet fart.

It was diarrhea.

I had to clench my butt cheeks and waddle to the washroom, careful not to drip anything (TMI, I know).

Bye. It was horrible. Worst day of my life.

@LosingCrayon it’s funny how I’m also Asian but we rarely consume tea at home
@nyuhopeful44 it’s cool your school sells coffee! Many people at my school bring Starbucks to school!
