High School Class of 2018

Wow what a day! I got great grades in the beginning of the day, but when I took my french quiz it was hard as heck!

My lax team just got destroyed 14-5 because the Varsity coach took our goalie, so we had to play wit a horrible goalie who hasn’t played in a year.

I really want to apply for research in Physics, but our school won’t let us to do Physics till Senior year!

I just posted a thread about this, so maybe someone will come in clutch and help me out

@DaEmmJay23 Oh, that sucks! Are you on JV?

@apple1893 yeah I play on JV this year!

I’m applying to the grocery store. I made a resume and LinkedIn profile and everything because I want to stand out. Can’t wait to bag groceries!!!Money !!

Trying to get into day trading but my $2000 in capital isn’t helping much. Guess this is not an option

300 pages! We’ve come a long way

@apple1893 We’ve come a long way at our schools too…summer and the upperclassmen years are approaching!

WE GOT THIS

I’m bringing this back:
The good: My softball team won 27-11 last night and I hit two doubles!
The bad: my APUSH grade will be an 89.6% for the quater
The ugly: in the past week I’ve gotten 6 hours of sleep

Ah, good Idea:

The good: Came second at track meet
The bad: I can barely read the book we are assigned to read for English class.
The ugly: Probs FAILED my French quiz…

So yesterday, I got the results back from the track meet. I threw 69 feet in discus and 30 feet in shot put. This was for the men’s’ events. I was given 4 attempts for both discus and shot. The shotput ball was 12 pounds and the disc I threw was about 1.5kg (about 3 pounds). I came in 17th place for discus and 24th place for shotput. This meet was a regional meet, meaning schools from the west side of the county, including ours, competed. We have another regional meet next week which takes place at our school.

The meet was hard though. People were throwing the shotput over 50 feet and discus over 110 feet. There were also a lot of people entered for both events. Going through shotput and discus took about 3 hours. The whole meet lasted 6 hours. One of the schools had 294 entries in all of the events, meaning that had entered at least 100 people into the meet, and that school ended up winning. I was exhausted after the meet on Wednesday. I didn’t get back home until 9:30pm. My legs and back were aching. I took some pills and went to sleep. I actually overslept, so I didn’t get to school until 8:30am.

@apple1893 Congrats on the track. I wish I could run that fast! :))

@HelloThereHola I’m really sorry for what happened. That must have been embarrassing. I also have the same problem of easily succumbing to peer pressure. It can be tough to say no. But you need to be able to. If you’re ever in that situation, just put your foot down and say NO. If they’re your friends, they’ll understand. If they’re not, then it shouldn’t be a big deal to just tell them no. Unless they kidnapped or forced you to go. :)) But yeah, whenever any of my teachers snap at me, it really does get to me. My Chemistry teacher snapped at me recently for not having a calculator and it really ruined my day. It sounded really mean. I just simply explained to her that I lost my calculator and I’m in the process of getting a new one. She apologized and noticed how mean she was being.

@ak2018 Thank you! I run the 1500m and the 800m which are the events which I train for. I commend you tho. Shotput is hard as **** (excuse my French). Let me just say, you are 100% stronger than me!

@averagebean That must have been terrible. That has never happen to me during track, luckily. I do remember our coach telling us a story about a guy, who used to go to our school, who ran a 50-second 400-meter dash and went to go behind the shed to throw up. Our coach used that as an example that many people don’t feel well after run 400 meters. “You don’t see people smiling once they cross that finish line, you seem them wheezing and trying to breath.” he said. I’ve had diarrhea before and it was not pretty. I was going to the bathroom every 5 minutes. :)) :frowning:

@DaEmmJay23 Our varsity soccer team is great! I was going to try out, until I found out that most of the team was rigged, as in most of the team were full of people who were here last year, mainly juniors and seniors.

@apple1893 Thanks lol :)) I’m pretty sure the word shit isn’t French, but you’re excused. (I usually say this after anyone says “Excuse my French” after saying an English curse-word). :)) But 30 feet isn’t that far for me, my PR (personal record) is 34 feet. One guy on our team, before he got injured, threw 39 feet. Tbh I usually come to practice 15-30 minutes late. My only problem is that when I’m throwing the shotput, as my coach says, I need to be throwing higher.

@apple1893 @bubblylaugh We have definitely come a long way. :)) We’re not little freshmen boy anymore! In a few months, we’ll be upperclassMEN and upperclassWOMEN.
