@Hamlon It’s crazy!! Especially Sasha now, because her older sister got into Harvard and all these great schools. Their parents seem very supportive from what I could tell though. About the commercial thing, I don’t even notice when I see an interracial couple because it’s 2016 for God’s sake. I can’t believe people actually think that anymore
@Hamlon OMG yes I know. They are both not allowed to have social media because of their father’s fame. They can’t get in trouble at all, or it’s on the news. Believe me, they’ll likely be put up to these expectations for the rest of their lives. It would beyond suck. I remember they got criticized at the Annual Turkey Pardoning Event at The White House for looking at their phones and being very disinterested with what was going on. Heck, I’d do the same thing too. The whole ceremony is literally about saving one out of the millions of turkeys killed every Thanksgiving. This would’ve been their sixth time seeing it happen. In all honesty, it’s not that special. Those turkeys are usually sent out to a farm where they live out the rest their short life span (one to three years). Turkeys naturally live that long. I guess that’s just the bad side of fame.
BTW, I love interracial couples! They’re these 4 people on my school shotput team (a black boy and white girl) (a black girl and a white boy) who would make the most perfect couples! One of my uncles even married a white girl, and it’s actually pretty cool. #interracialcouplesforthewin Also, I think I haven’t stated this, but I love how our coach is a woman of color. She’s also black, attended UVA, and majored in kinesiology and currently in grad school. Love ya Coach J. You’re literally goals!

@ak2018 I forgot about the turkey thing. It’s annoying how people treat them like that, since we all know everyone just wants to look at their phone anyway.
SIDE NOTE: there’s an app called Schoold for college which allows you to put in test scores/GPA to see your approximate chance of getting into your choice school, as well as ask questions and look up schools to find the right one for you. Obviously not an ad, but I think it’s pretty helpful for anyone that wants to try it.
Ok, I’m definitely joining the SNHC tonight. I have an essay, that is five days late, to finish, study and do homework for World History, and finish up some Chemistry homework. I’m gonna be off the Internet, so I won’t be distracted. I would really like it if some nice person would go over my essay after I’m done. I should be done around 11:00-11:30pm EST. It has to be a person who’s been on this thread for a while.

@Hamlon @ak2018 those people who said the hurtful things under the ad disgusted me. I’m the product of an interracial couple and have not been allowed to date someone because their parents didn’t approve of me being mixed and their child being white. It just makes me sick that people still think this way in 2016.
Any recommendations for studying for the AP World History exam? I’m really anxious considering I’m not too fond of history, and I’m only on the Greeks right now.
@mbl0826 Stern is not slightly below ivy caliber. It is harder to get into than some ivies. Nobody cares about the ivy tag these days anyway. Schools like Duke, MIT, Stern, Stanford attract outstanding students who can easily compete with ivy kids.
@Hamlon Sometimes I have to stop and ask myself if it’s really 2016. You’d think things have changed in the last century, yet we still have people boycotting stores and brands because gasp interracial couples exist. And at the same time as this thing with Old Navy, we have people hating on Malia Obama because apparently young black women aren’t allowed to be successful without being questioned. It’s just so sad how prejudiced our society still is.

I’m crying guys. I got into the Telluride Association Sophomore Seminars (TASS) and will now spend 6 weeks at University of Michigan discussing African-American topics. I’ve been going through this application for so long…I don’t think I’ve ever worked so hard on/cared about something to this degree. This has been my goal for months.

I’m literally looking up how negatively a 2 would impact my college apps in 2 years… AND THE THING IS, IT WAS EASY! And then I wrote in pencil for one of my essays because I didn’t know you’re supposed to use pen, and if they don’t score it, I’m definitely screwed… ;(
