@DaEmmJay23 AP Computer Science A should require no previous experience. Depends on your school. CB says it can be an intro course and it was for me.
@annana yeah, I didn’t really want to, but the school kind of forces us during our junior year. most kids are taking anywhere from 4-6 APs if they’re in IB for their junior year here
@HelloThereHola I was thinking about how that will be a lot of vocabulary for you to remember. Have you ever heard of Anki? I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about it before, but it’s because people need to use it to study their vocab. Plase go to ankisrs.net and download the software. It is a flashcard system that uses spaced repetition to help you remember basically anything. All you have to do is set aside, maybe 30 minutes a day (depending on how much cards you have) and study your flashcards. It will take care of the rest and make a schedule for you to review the cards based on how well you’ve remembered them. The ones you’ve remembered easily, are pushed further back, so you see less of them, but the cards you’ve struggled to remember, you will see more of. In this way it’s super efficient because you don’t have to waste time reviewing all of your flash cards like you normally would, and instead mainly review the words or whatever, that you really need to. I think they have an app available too, so you can use it on the go through your tablet or phone.
@DancingwithStars I kind of view this as, that everything has lead up to this moment. This exact moment. Are you going to let all your hard work earlier go to waste? 10th grade is ending and you want to go out with a bang. Even if you can’t raise your grades up much higher, this is about proving to yourself that you can try hard when you are motivated to succeed. Remember, you only actually lose when you give up. Please don’t give up. Find something in your that will motivate you.You just have to believe in yourself 8-> starts singing believe from polar express You have everything you need if you just belieeve breaks windows… yeah okay I guess you get my point now…Wait, wait I’m going to also say this quote. “a lot of the times when you think it is the ending of something, it is actually just the beginning” let this ending of the quarter be a new beginning for you.
@starbyte I think the College Board’s Official SAT Study guide is one of the best choice for an SAT prep book, it’s got I believe, 10 practice test… so it’s like the SAT bible ^:)^ I read it every night before going to bed too. XD. That’s my main go to for SAT prep books. BTW, please check out Khan Academy for SAT prep. They’re partnered with collegeboard to give free, personalized SAT practice. There is no way you can lose with that. I would recommend at least taking their diagnostic test for the SAT (they don’t have ACT prep) so you can tackle exactly what you need the most help in.
I’ve researched some of the ACT prep books (I haven’t tried them myself yet though) , and I would recommend you check out the Real ACT test prep (which includes 5 practice test). Princeton Review’s Cracking the ACT (includes 6 practice test) and Kaplan’s Best ACT prep book #3, which has 8 practice tests, a DVD, practice quizzes, flashcards and videos.
Another book I looked at is the The ACT Prep Black Book: The Most Effective ACT Strategies Ever Published which also seems like a great book of strategies that will help you avoid missing the most missed questions of the ACT.
I think Princeton Review’s books for SAT/ACT prep are the best (so I’ve heard) because they focus a lot on the strategies that will help you break the test and give you tips that are easy to master, compared to like Kaplan who seems to just give you straightforward information. So I would probably choose to get Princeton’s reviews prep books. I’m actually just going to get there Math SAT practice workbook. Then use khan academy, and College Board’'s official SAT study guide for the rest.
@ak2018 well I should have know there was a catch somewhere… i mean java in 4 hours sounded way too good . I’ll take your advice seriously. Actually funny thing is I am taking Spanish too, and I’ve been taking it for like 5 years now, and I have an A, but I’m not fluent in it still because I hardly practice it at home, even if my Dad does speak it. I totally understand what you mean about rushing through courses and not learning anything. I’ve had that happen more than once. hey, I was interested in learning Python too… :-h well, bye! I guess my two years of Java begins now…
nearly spent 40 minutes typing this post… I really need to go get a life. @-)

@Abbiegalie Yeah, I asked my Computer Math teacher and he said Java is a pretty good language to learn over the summer, for at least an 1 1/2 hours a day. So, I’m still gonna do Java. I took Italian back in the 8th grade and I barely remember a thing :))
I’ll probably have summer work for my AP classes, but I’m pretty sure for AP Lit, I’ll have to read a book and then summarize it once I get to school. I’ll find out during the last week of school.
I know I have a math packet for honors precalc, and I want to learn some of the material ahead of time so I can really get some of the concepts. I think I’ll have to do something for AP Lit, but I’m not 100% sure
So my class, which are full of seniors, just ordered a pizza, which is 10 minutes late, for lunch.
I just went to an only seniors party since all of my friends are seniors. it wasn’t great, but I got free pizza. also, their senior prank was so lame
I don’t have any summer work. B-) :D/ Well, I do, but it’s all voluntary.
Our senior prank was basically business cards that say “Class of 2016” placed all around the school
School is driving me insane. Just two more days…two more days.
Started in the band room closet, burned the whole music library, the locker room part is ruined and the ceiling pretty much collapsed. Windows had to be smashed to let the smoke out cause ours don’t open and it was pretty much ventilating it around the school. Really smells terrible in that pod and the adjacent one, luckily it’s a huge school
@reidd799 Dang! That’s terrible! Do you think they’ll be able to repair them anytime soon?
@Hamlon thank you for the input. Also, love your profile photo!
I’m done with school! Also crying bc I got a 99 on my chem final so I have an A+ in the class and it’s honestly the best thing to happen to me in weeks.
Just took a 2 hour nap…
@gormar099 Congrats on being done!! I still have about 14 days left but I feel like I have so much work left omg
what should i wear for a campus tour??? i was planning on wearing converse, light jeans with a few rips (nothing too scandy) and a spirit jersey from my current school, but my mom wants me to wear something fancier. while i appreciate that its good to look like you care, i don’t want to be the obnoxious kid that tries too hard. also its going to be raining so on top of all that is going to be a blue rain jacket
@chr1717 sounds cute (and right for the occasion)! What school are you touring?
