High School Class of 2018

@ihavenoideawow Geez, that’s a lot of work! It makes cry just looking at it! :((

@ihavenoideawow @aspiringgirl So one of the sophomores thought it would be good idea to do a sophomore prank, so he brought multiple spray able cheese-fizz cans to school so he could spray the number 18 (for the class of 2018) on all of the stairwells. One of my friends saw him trying to spray one of the stairwells and tried to stop him, only to be sprayed in the face and he dropped one of his cans, which she, the friend, picked up and sprayed him back. She ran at him into a classroom and got into a cheese-fizz can war, and cheese-fizz got over half the classroom. The classroom belonged to one of the third-floor Biology teachers and when she came in, she was like, “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!”. She made them clean up the room and my friend got in the most trouble because she was the last one holding the cans. But she didn’t even get in trouble, like a suspension, she got blamed for most of it, though. The teacher was like, “Well, you shouldn’t have run after him and sprayed him back.” When she got sprayed in the face, people started laughing at her, so she sprayed them. They were just some of her friends. So after this all happened, and she was finished cleaning the room, she went to Chemistry, we’re both in the same class. My Chemistry teacher was kind of disappointed when she heard what had happened. (I swear to God, the entire science department at our school just constantly gossip about us so much they’ve created their own clique :)) My Chemistry teacher even told one of the AP Chemistry teachers about how I completely bombed a test, 10 minutes after the end of class. :frowning: )

The funny part about this whole thing is, I’m friends with both of the people who were cheese-fizz fighting. The guy who started it, went to my middle school :))

@chr1717 Well, if it were me, I’d either wear a polo shirt and khakis, or my signature look, an unbuttoned flannel shirt with a colored t-shirt underneath with khakis or colored shorts. Then, I’d finish it off by wearing either my Sperry Boat Shoes, or my black, ankle boots. But, I’m a guy, and I dress very preppy because it’s my style, so :)) For a girl, I’d probably wear sweatpants, or pants, with riding boots, Uggs, or Toms. Since you’re going to be wearing a jacket, I’d say wear an appropriate shirt underneath.

This is only advice, but it wouldn’t be too bad to dress a little fancy. I mean, this might be your future college we’re talking about here, I’d say DRESS TO IMPRESS! I mean, you might just meet your future professors there as well. If I were you, I’d feel like I had a responsibility to make a good first impression, but that’s just me. Plus, you might some cute college girls/guys :)) LOL

Also, what school are you touring? I’ll be hopefully, touring Virginia Tech in less than a month or so.

So, yesterday, I heard my school now has enough funding and sponsors to be able to have a Rocketry Club next year! There’s an interest meeting that I’ll be staying after for to talk about it! I feel like a Rocketry Club at our school would be so awesome! We’ll be building model rockets. This also made me think about all of the other clubs I’m planning to join next year like:

the clubs I’m joining next year are

French Honor Society
History Honor Society
National English Honor Society
National Honor Society
SADD (maybe)

they’re almost all honors societies, but that’s because our school doesn’t have much else, lol. many of the other clubs are geared towards band, and I won’t have any room for band so that’s not happening :(( hopefully some science clubs will pop up next year!

I just got my Chemistry and World History SOL scores today.

Chemistry: 478
World History: 541

I’m really happy with the World History score, but not as happy with the Chemistry one. I kind of feel like the score is making me rethink taking AP Chemistry, even though at this point I have to take it. I know I shouldn’t stress out about it, but I kind of just feel bad. I’ll just have to work a lot harder in AP Chemistry next year. Hopefully, my Algebra II score will cheer me up tomorrow.

I’m in:
Key Club (I have a postion on the state board)
PCEP Pals (president and founder)
Genetics Club
Interact Club

I plan on joining:
Link Crew
NHS
HOSA

I didn’t answer an essay question on my English exam but my teacher gave me full credit for it anyway? Sometimes I wonder if my teachers actually look at my work. A similar thing happened with my Algebra 2 teacher. I always get notified when a teacher grades my work and I can choose to be notified when a teacher opens any emails from me. Once I turned in a project for Algebra 2 through email, and this is how things went down:
1:08 PM: Mr. X read “Honors Algebra 2 - Project”
1:09 PM: Assessment Feedback in Honors Algebra 2

Like y’all…why do I even do my work

These are the extra-curriculars I am in right now:

Varsity Football (fall and spring & summer workouts)
JV/AAU Basketball (winter, spring, & summer)
JV/Club Lacrosse (spring, summer, & fall)
Green Team (or environmental club)
Ribbon Club (for cancer)
Signature Program
Signature & AVID Student Leadership Team

Next year I hope to join these:
English Honor Society
Math Honor Society
National Honor Society
Science Honor Society
French Honor Society (if my teacher lets me join without being in the class since I have no room in my schedule)
Key Club
Computer Science Club
Math Team

I’m doing too much and won’t have any time to sleep next year…yay!!! >:)

So I literally just called Virginia Tech a few minutes ago, for the second time, to get some questions I wanted answered. From the phone call, they said that, when it comes to admissions, they look at letter grades, rather than the GPA as a whole. They also try and look at if you took the most rigorous classes you could take, while still doing well. Meaning if you took Regular U.S. History and got an A, they might start to wonder if you would’ve still gotten that A if you were in APUSH. They want to see that you can challenge yourself. However, since I’m going for an engineering degree, my focus should be to do the most rigorous Math, Science, and English courses available to me, which next year will be AP Chemistry, AP English Language, and Composition, and Functions/Trigonometry. They also said that it didn’t matter if I wanted to take Principles of Engineering or AP Psychology next year, however it would look better to have Principles of Engineering instead as it shows interest in Engineering. I’ll take AP Psychology senior year. Since AP Psychology is considered an AP Social Science Elective, and not a Math, Science, or English class, I’ll be fine. So my schedule is still as follows:

Engineering Explorations I/Robotics
Principles of Engineering
AP Chemistry
U.S. and Virginia History
Functions/Trigonometry
Spanish II
AP English Language and Composition

I also, unofficially, got my summer assignment for AP Chemistry.

AP Chemistry Summer Assignments

  • Look over two powerpoints (One on things we should've covered in Pre-AP Chemistry and one on things we might have covered in Pre-AP Chemistry)
  • Watch all of the YouTube links and do all of the Quizlets linked in the powerpoints
  • Complete 8-paged Formula Writing and Naming Practice Review
  • Complete 2-paged AP Chemistry Summer Problems Packet
  • Complete AP Chemistry Diagnostic Assessment after everything else is done

My, hopefully, future AP Chemistry teacher has already put up the summer assignments and answers online. I haven’t even had her as a teacher yet, and I’m already starting to love her. She’s much more encouraging and helpful than my current Pre-AP Chemistry. I really wish I had her for Pre-AP Chemistry instead of my current teacher.

We also finished Coraline yesterday.

the IB assistant principal called my writing scores phenomenal  I feel so happy. I’m so glad I was accepted!

@ak2018 u of m!

@bubblylaugh ^ and thanks!

i talked to my advisor (it’s his alma mater) and he said it wouldn’t really matter as long as i didn’t wear a bandage skirt, pajamas, or an ohio state t shirt :))

As in University of Maryland? @chr1717

@chr1717 I live in the u of m area!!! I just went on a tour not too long ago. Go blue!!! What hs do u go to? I go to Canton which is part of PCEP

@chr1717 hahaha your advisor is right, definitely don’t go with an OSU shirt. I live in Ohio and someone gasped when I told them I was interested in UofM. There’s such a wedge between us all because of football. :))

@ak2018 I’m touring Virginia Tech, UVA, John Hopkins, UMBC, and Maryland this summer!

@neptuna lol it’s the same way here. My friend passed up a full ride to Ohio State because of the rivarly. She ended up going to Michigan State, which also has a pretty big rivalry with UofM but not as bad as with Ohio State. I do have some pretty bad experiences with Ohio State fans. My extended family and I have season tickets to UofM football, and we have this portable outhouse. We all left to go play bocce ball, and when we came back someone pooped in it and left a note that said “go bucks” or something. Another time I went to cedar point with my cousin and his car got keyed by an Ohio State fan just because he had a UofM bumper sticker (and he was a student there at the time–the sticker wasn’t related to football!)

@DaEmmJay23 Cool! When are you going to Virginia Tech? I’m planning on going between June 20th and June 24th. I might try and see if I can squeeze in a tour to UVA that week as well, but my first priority is to tour Virginia Tech. If I can’t squeeze it in, then I’ll go in August, after summer school.

Also, is anyone still here? I feel like I’ve been talking to myself for the past few days. :))
