High School Class of 2018

Guys, I literally just got a pair of Google Glasses for reading 4 books over the past summer!

I just got my official summer hw for AP Lit. I have to read Jane Eye and Pride and Prejudice and write comments about them on the class website. I also have to read through an article and we got the syllabus

I’m here! @ak2018
I don’t have any major summer plans that would take me away from CC for a great deal of time so I’ll be here more or less the entire summer.

@gormar099 Ah cool! Neither do I! :)) I just thought a lot people are going to stop using the thread for the summer now that most schools are closing for the summer. I’ve still got three weeks left. :((

@nyuhopeful We’ll be having AP class meetings sometime in the next two weeks. We’ll be given our AP summer packets then.

I got my Algebra II score today.

Score: 537

My grade in Algebra II just went up from an 82 to an 87. I’m now at a B+

Actually I read the paper wrong, I get to choose two from any of these books:
Pride and Prejudice
White Noise
Jane Eyre
The Road
The Woman Warrior
The Things They Carried

Anyone have any recommendations?

@nyuhopeful44 I read The Woman Warrior in the 9th grade. It’s a pretty good book.

@nyuhopeful44 That’s terrible! I can’t believe someone would damage someone’s property in the name of sports. I love Ohio State (the college), but I just can’t stand the rivalry. Like calm down, it’s football.

I’m done with school!!! <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P

@neptuna Are gonna be on here throughout the summer? I’m trying to figure out how active this thread will be.

@ak2018 I think I’ll be on occasionally (very ambiguous ik). I just read an article and wrote a reflection about the Virginia Tech Massacre…pretty interesting (and sad and violent)

@ak2018 Once in awhile. I’ll post if I do anything cool, but I know the majority of my summer will be spent reading fanfiction, watching movies, and studying math lol

@ak2018 I will definitely be here for the summer

@ak2018 any time between July 21 and July 28

Wow, I’ve been absent!

My ec’s:
JV basketball
Varsity Soccer and Track
School Council
Student Foundation President
Model UN
Outside of school courses
Will be joining Physics competitions (independently)

I’ve decided that each day of this summer I’m gonna write down everything notable I did that day in my journal. I feel like it’ll be really funny to look back on and see how boring my summer was.

As an example, here’s Day 1:
Cleaned
Was sad I had no one to hang out with
Made tuna salad, ate lots of olives in the process

@neptuna yes I agree the Michigan Ohio State rivarly has gone wayyy too far

school just ended today, now what??

That rivalry has nothing on Alabama-Auburn. Tell me when you’re poisoning each other’s trees on campus…

@bubblylaugh The Virginia Tech Massacre was definitely one that most my the state, and country, will remember well, even though I was only 6 years old, about to be 7. The shooting itself will definitely not deter me from attending the university. Over the years, Virginia Tech has been working hard to increase its safety. However, there still has been terrible events taking place at Tech since then, like the shooting in 2011 that claimed 2 lives, the one of the shooter and the one of the police officer. Just recently, two Engineering students were accused, arrested, and charged with the murder of a 7th grader from Blacksburg.

To remember all of the victims who lost their lives that day on April 16, 2007, Virginia Tech hosts a 4.16-mile Remembrance Run every April 16th.

One of my middle school teachers actually was at the campus at the time of the shooting. She was a student there. She said the experience honestly makes her think about the preciousness of life. If she was one of those 32 who lost their lives, she wouldn’t have been married or teaching us for that matter.
