High School Class of 2018

@kassh4 My first APUSH test had seven term identifications, where you need to define and anaylze the significance of the terms. My second one had six of them, as well as fifteen multiple choice questions. How did you fight a DBQ alongside all that? We get a whole period to write ours.

Speaking of which, I actually feel really good about the DBQ I did in APUSH today! I’m hoping for a six or a seven.

@LeopardFire We get a class period to do the mc 35 minutes to do the long essay and then for the DBQ he do it at home because our class periods are shorter than the time you get for the DBQ and he just trusts us not to cheat. I dont think cheating has been a problem in his class because the DBQ is our strongest subject we always score in the top 25%.

I feel so behind! My APUSH class hasn’t done DBQs or essays yet. Our first unit test had a handful of multiple choice questions and 7 short answers questions in which we chose 3 to answer.

So here’s my plan for today and the rest of the week:
Today: I’m volunteering at a fundraiser for childhood cancer research
Tomorrow: Softball, babysitting, and working
Monday: AP Chemistry group quiz
Tuesday: AP Microeconomics Unit 2 test and work
Wednesday: AP Chemistry Chapter 5 test and softball practice
Thursday: AP Lit Heart of Darkness Imprompt and work
Friday: work

I also thought of a pretty cool idea where we write down everything we did today to help us get into college and prepare for our futures. This helps me avoid burnout.
So today:
Studying for Chemistry and Econ will help me get better grades which are important for junior year
I might study for the ACT if I have time, and a better score means more college options
The volunteer work I’m doing today will allow me to meet more people and learn more about the field I’m interested in

I need to edit my novel. But I don’t have the time or the money to pay for someone to do it.

Any takers?

I’m finally getting my permit today! Wish me luck!

I’m doing my APUSH homework which will
a.) help my grades which is good for college
b.) increase my knowledge for the test in May

other than that I’m not doing very much today to help me prepare for college haha

This week:
Today: Working on making a video game with my friends for a competition, math homework probably, memorize chemistry stuff
Sunday: Practice SAT (for the upcoming PSAT), finish up homework, laundry
Monday: (chem, physics, phyiscs lab), Robotics meeting, climbing

Wenesday: (chem, physics, calc TEST) robotics lunch meeting, talk to a teacher about a club my friend and i are starting, climbing, robotics parent meeting (i have to go cause im in leadership)
Thursday: (chem lab, physics, english) robotics study group

Is anyone else off on Columbus Day? Technically, our county is one of few that is usually in school on Columbus Day. This year, it just so happens that Columbus Day is a Teacher Workday. I never really liked the idea of Columbus Day, but at least I’ll get a little break.

I havent really studied for the ACT since school started, and I havent studied for the PSAT either. Im planning on winging the PSAT idk if thats a good idea tho. I just dont have the motivation to study on top of all my school work

Also, my brother’s homecoming is today, but he’s not going. A lot of his friends are skipping this year, so it’s not really a big deal. I’m not going to my school’s homecoming this year either. No one from my grade is really planning on going and I’ve seen a large decrease in homecoming proposals this year (I’ve only seen 3). There’s even talk about cancelling homecoming next year because it seems the school is earning less and less money from homecoming and prom each year.

On the bright side, the spirit week themes have been revealed. Our spirit week is October 17th - October 21, with our homecoming game on the night of October 21st and our homecoming on the night of October 22nd.

Monday - Around the World (Our school finally got a multicultural day! )
Tuesday - Good vs. Evil
Wednesday - Tourist Day
Thursday - Pajama Day
Friday - Class Color Day (We get to wear blue this year)

I’m actually really surprised our school is having an Around The World Day. I’m pretty sure there are going to be a lot of people who still think of it as 'Merica Monday, though.

@kassh4 I’m also planning on winging it on the PSAT this year. I’m not really interested in going for NMF anyway.

This Week (starting today):

Today: finish APUSH notes and possibly start doing the APUSH packet, go to see Miss Peregrine’s with a friend

Sunday: marching band competition, finish APUSH packet, work on musical audition

Monday: clean room a bit, work on musical audition, study for the PSAT coming up, possibly look over my driver’s manual (applying to take my permit test soon for winter driver’s ed at school)

Tuesday: back to school! 4 day weekends are the best!!! but anyways, I have an orthodontist appointment during the day, I have to come right back to school for my student council meeting, audition for musical (this year is Bye Bye Birdie), and then go to work

Wednesday: gay straight alliance meeting after school, marching band practice

Thursday: currently scheduled for nothing, which means I will either do homework, study for the PSAT, look at the driver’s manual, or procrastinate everything and watch Gossip Girl on Netflix

Friday: home football game (marching band performs at halftime), and nothing else really

Saturday: marching band competition!

  • all of my regular homework. School is picking up. :(

Junior year was so overhyped i feel like. My school only offers 3 APs junior year and everyone made it sound like it was going to be impossible but so far its not that bad. It does help that we dont really do much in AP chem: We only have 3 tests first semester. Also taking the ACT in June was a great idea, I dont know how people can focus on school and ACT/SAT its too much stuff to juggle at once.

@cliffnotes hit me up

Unless it’s romance or historical fiction

Have you guys seen the clown sighting video where the clown is on a bridge in the woods and he starts chasing them with a knife? I found out that happened in my city on trails I was just on a few weeks ago. And I often see a clown walking up and down the street adjacent to my neighborhood. This whole clown thing is getting terribly real for me. Have you guys seen any clowns?

The whole clown thing lasted a solid 48 hours in our town after that nobody even talked about them
