I got a 145/150 on my first physics test, which brought my grade up to a 93.5%!! Now my only B is in chemistry, and I have a test friday which will hopefully bring it up
So my multivariable calc midterm is tomorrow after school; 3 hours long and 12-13 questions. I am going to bomb it, but that’s ok (no it’s not lol) WISH ME LUCK!
Good luck! @soccer1235
@Soccer1235 Good luck! I have a multivariable calc unit test tomorrow so I know how you feel lol.
@Soccer1235 @snowfairy137 good luck on your tests! i myself have a calc quiz tomorrow and a timed write in english X_X
I neeeed a 4.0 GPA this year, I had a 3.7 last year and daMN
guess I’ll chime in as well, no - or + in my school system
APUSH-98%
Accounting-96 %
Pre Calc H- 77% which is a B because my school is common core and uses learning targets so 75 percent for a B 86 percent for an A.
AP Human geography-93 %
English 3- 92%
AP Spanish-88 % but she hasnt put in our warmup sheet and a quiz that i got a 20/20 on
Summary of Yesterday: I did well on my Spanish 2 Oral, I worked and found out how dangerous table saws are In EE/R, I learned about screws and inclined planes in POE, and bombed my AP Chem quiz (there goes my dream of getting an A). We also started Big Idea 2 in AP Chem yesterday and we’ll have our Big Idea 1 test on October 25th.
That moment when you realize that you know you got the wrong answer on your AP Chem quiz because of you didn’t realize at the time that an anion of an atom is somewhat bigger in radius than the original atom.
Also, our homecoming theme this year is: Glow-Co!! Which means it’s a glow-in-the-dark theme. The tickets are $10 this year, which I thought was weird since it’s usually much more expensive, but then I realized our graduating class, and the school’s student population, has lowered in numbers from last year, making the tickets much less inexpensive.
Also, I just realized that we have sprit week the same week, next week, as the PSAT
I’m taking the PSAT a week from today and haven’t yet studied :)) whoops
@nyuhopeful44 OMG, I completely forgot it’s next week! Time to freak out and review all of the math I forgot. I need a crash course on Geometry ASAP. I don’t care if I get NMSF(it would be a plus), but my PSAT score will likely be the only score I’ll have for Questbridge College Prep and some summer programs.
@nyuhopeful44 @Hamlon I was just given my PSAT Study Guide in my AP Lang class today! I honestly might just look through it, but I’m not planning on study too much. I’m definitely not shooting for NMSF.
Quick Question: In your honest opinion, which part of the year do you think is best to take the SAT? Beginning, middle, or close to the end? I was planning on taking it in April and then again in June, but I’m having second thoughts. My plan is to either take it twice this school year, or once this year and another early next year.
Also, what are you goal scores and what do you think will be your weakest section and why?
Goal Score: 1200 or Higher
Likely Weakest Section: Math. I’m 99.9% sure Geometry will kill me!
I feel I studied for the ACT enough that I’m okay.
@ak2018 I think it depends on what level of math you’re taking. My twin is in Algebra II, so I don’t think she should take it until the later part of the year. Otherwise, I guess whenever you have time. The winter months are probably best, because there are lots of holiday breaks you can use to study.
Goal Score: 1300+ (700+ R/W, ~600 M)
Weakest Section: Math, I hate math so much
Have the opportunity to tutor middle school kids, how much of a benefit would this be on college applications?
@CoolNick I say go for it if you have the time and would enjoy it. It shows that you’re selfless, good at explaining things to others, and retain information well.
My AP Computer Science teacher hasn’t graded anything of mine. I’m usually patient with this sort of thing but like…is she just gonna grade all 44 of my homework assignments on the last day of class or something? It’s been over a month since school started. Imagine if I’m not even doing anything right and I have no clue. Sigh
I got a 100 on my AP Calc quiz, lets hope I can get an A before the quarter ends next week, 2 points away!!!
I got a 42 on my History HL assignment and was very very annoyed. My parents would’ve jumped me lol. But after sending a very passive-aggressive email, the teacher said she made a mistake and changed my mark to 100.
PRAISE THE LORD I DIDNT ACTUALLY GET 42 LOL
@ak2018 Personally I think the best time to take the SAT is in November and January, November being kinda like a trial run and January being the let’s get that 1600, that way scores come in before winter break and it gives you all of winter break to study (for me that’s like 3 weeks of solid SAT study time!) Also, It’s in a pretty good time of year as, for both tests, there aren’t any conflicting finals/AP tests. All based on my school year calendar, probably does not apply to everyone.
Goal Score: 1450+ I’ve been consistently scoring in the 1400’s now so really hoping to get it to a 1500, but we’ll see.
Weakest section: Reading- I actually love to read and am a pretty good reader too! I just don’t read ALL answer choices and am too tired to check answers even though I finish with like 13 min left for that section…I’m trying to fix bad habits though!
