High School Class of 2018

for me personally coffee works just fine

I got a C+ on my Pre-Calc quiz. It didn’t change my grade from a 77, but I really need to bring it up to a 80… X_X

@BucketsUCSC I remember seeing the option to use score choice when I registered for the SAT. I’m not sure if you can ask for score choice after you’ve registered, but with my four free score reports it gave me the option of using score choice. Can you still alter your registration or is it locked? As long as the final date to use the free score reports hasn’t passed (one week after test date), you can take advantage of them. I just went to the SAT registration thing and it’s letting me change the schools I previously selected and if I want to send all scores or some. As long as you go to change this before seven days passed since you tested, you can still alter how you want to use your score reports.

Someone PLEASE correct me if I’m wrong because I don’t want to give out any bad info.

obviously 7 days has passed, and I know I’ll most likely be taking the test again is it possible the next time i take it to select score choice

I am struggling with AP Computer Science and the class is actually very fast paced like we do from two labs to ten labs in a week and then have a test over the whole unit with concepts and all and the labs in the next week. How should I improve? The labs are not that bad. I struggle more with the free response part to be honest. Plus my teacher does not teach that well. Should i use a prep book? But I tried looking at the Barrons prep book over the summer and a lot of it was confusing.

AP Physics 1 is absolute torture. I’m struggling so much (while AP Biology is such a breeze). Ugh.

My dad surprised me and said he was finally letting me take driver’s ed! Not sure why I wasn’t allowed until now, but I can’t be mad! I’m super busy, so I’m using this website called Aceable. Apparently, I can do the entire class through an app on my phone.

I got a D in my most recent Calculus test (I have one more) and I’m so annoyed bc I actually thought I did well that time. Also my chemistry teacher keeps playing games and she wrote yet another test that didn’t make any sense

@hamlon you’re so lucky you can take drivers ed online in your state. I would have to go to an afterschool class and i just dont have the time.

Oh hello!
It’s been a while since I posted on here. I’ve become very busy. Here are a few updates:

  1. I got my driver’s license today. I almost failed the test in the first two minutes, but thankfully I didn’t hit the pedestrian.
  2. I’m copping my first B in high school in AP Physics. I’m actually more proud of my B in that class than my A in AP Language and Composition.
  3. I’ve started every football game this year, and I’ve become one of the most well-known players in my county. My team lost three games, but we have a good chance to make playoffs at 7-3 still.

UPDATE on my macroecon class:
The prof let me retake the exam, and I went from a C to a B+. PHEW

Yo so today was the first stroke clinic for swimming and I only lasted 20 minutes! I didn’t have enough to eat for dinner, so I felt really dizzy and lightheaded after those 20 minutes and had to sit out the rest of the time. Hopefully I eat more next time :))

I just used the word “hunk” in my APUSH movie review when describing how Daniel Day Lewis portrayed John Proctor in The Crucible… Someone send help ASAP hahaha I’m scared my APUSH teacher is going to think that I’m just talking about how much I love DDL, but in reality I’m trying to explain how the “attractive Hollywood actor” desire of the consumer is shown in the movie…

You guys I have a chem midterm, a physics test, a calc quiz AND an English paper due Friday. Please send help as well.

I send help from my cousin’s house in Canada, where I am currently staying until Sunday morning because of my grandfather’s funeral. I’m missing 3 days of school and the championship competition for marching band, and I have 0 time to do any homework, especially when the place I’m going to be at all day tomorrow has no wifi. Goodbye, getting my essays done. At least I will get a lot of time to take my Chapter 8 notes for APUSH, and I will spend the nights at my cousins (where wifi is abundant) to do essays haha

Hey Guys! I’ve been out for a few days, but I wanted to go ahead and say a few things:

  1. I probably won't be on CC as much as I normally am.
  2. I'm currently applying to not one, but TWO summer STEM programs. They are called the Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars program (VASTS) and the Virginia Earth System Science Scholars program (VESSS). I've been trying to fill out the applications ASAP because the due date is on October 30th and I only just started my application on October 20th. So I've literally had to write 4 750-worded essays, in one night and get 4 recommendation letters (which are due next Wednesday). I finished my VESSS application, but due to my engineering teacher, who was supposed to write my recommendation letter for the VASTS program, getting sick, I'm likely going to have to ask another teacher so I can get all of my supporting materials in by the November 2nd deadline.

Not only that, but I’m also apply for a college course to whichever program (VASTS or VESSS) I’m accepted to. I’m still wary on the details, but I believe I will be allowed to take the college course whether I’m accepted or not. All that matters is that I applied to be in the program. The college course is FREE and will count as dual enrollment. I will be taking the college course online through Thomas Nelson Community College. I have to turn in another set a forms that are due November 10th. I also have to send my PSAT scores, from last year, and my high school SOL scores. I’m really excited for this program! I think the college course will really enhance my application.

@Hamlon Nice! I’m probably not going to an actual class either, my dad is going to teach me. What app are you using? I’ll probably need all the extra help I can get. orz

@Marg532 I’m sorry about your grandfather. I went to my grandmother’s funeral on Saturday. I knew she had been on the decline for a while, but its still weird to know she is gone. I hope everything is alright with your family.

@ak2018 I was wondering where you were. :U Good luck with all those applications!

My internship at my synagogue is finally taking off. I’m going to be writing emails about teen events, and researching the archives. It sounds fun! My entire internship group is also planning a teen movie night at the synagogue in December.

Also, I went on a field trip to the capitol (of CT) yesterday for Financial Literacy. We were given an income based on a chosen career, and we had to put together a monthly budget. It sounds boring, but it was actually super informative.

@Ak2018 I applued for something similar called Washington Aerospace Scholars! You have to apply to get into the class, which they call phase one, but I dont think its that competitive considering you have to do well in the class to get into the summer program, which they call phase two. They asked for stuff like class rank, GPA, and a recomendation letter for the application and I think all of those are pretty good for me so I’ll probably get into the class… Then its on to actually doing well in that class lol.

@snowfairy137 It’s the same thing for ours. You have to do well in the class in order to be accepted to the summer academy. The summer academy is at the NASA Langley Center, at least Virginia.

@Ak2018 ours is at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA but we get to go to other places like a tour of the ground floor at Boeing (usually you only get to take that tour if you’re buying a plane!! lol). Was your class curriculum designed by NASA? If it was then it might actually be the same or a similar class.
