High School Class of 2018

One interesting thing about taking all your classes in a college is you get asked what your major is a lot. Both my physics teachers have tried to recruit me for a physics major and I’m just like… no, engineering. Today my lecture physics teacher asked me this then asked me why engineering and not physics and I’m just like “robots” and he’s like… but PHYSICS ROBOTS! and I’m like sure whatever.

Speaking of classes, I got a 153/150 on my physics test… somehow?? I missed 3 points. and 94.5/100 on my chem test. The college is weird and gives out numerical grades from 0.0-4.0 like a GPA. So, I have:
Physics lab 96% 4.0 probably… idk
Physics: 97.6% 4.0 (but with a ton of wiggle room, the teacher wrote 4.5 as my current grade but that’s not a thing you can actually get lol)
Chem: 93% 3.8 (ahhhhh I really want a 4.0 don’t ruin it for me evil chem teacher :frowning: )
English: 99.22% 4.0?? (she hasn’t graded any major papers yet though…)
Calc (at a different college so different grading system) 100% A+ = 4.0 (HOW?)

chem is hard :frowning:

@snowfairy137 That’s great, especially for college STEM classes! I’m pretty sure I have a 92 or 93 in my poli sci class, and that’s with it actually being relatively easy. I’m sure colleges will find your grades really impressive!

@neptuna thanks! I guess I’m a little overprotective of my 4.0 haha.

If an application gives the option to mark only one race, and I am biracial (hispanic (spain) and african (sudan)), which should I put? I identify strongly with both, so it isn’t a question of “which I feel more like”. Maybe which is more underrepresented?

@Soccer1235 I think it boils down to the gut feeling you have about which race to mark. I don’t think that problem will arise, though, since most - if not all - of those things have the “biracial” or “more than one race” option.

I’m filling out an application and it doesn’t have an option for biracial, more than one race, or none of the above :-/
I think I’m going to put African American because I derive my look, culture, and religion from my dad, and he is African.

@snowfairy137 I totally relate, man. :confused:
Everyone I meet is askin’ my major, so I usually just say ‘unnndecided.’
Other times I’m like ‘I’m not pursuing a major right now 8I’ and get weird looks.

So I literally just woke up at 7:30pm and didn’t hear the doorbell being rung, so a bunch of trick-or-treaters didn’t get any candy from our house! More candy for me then! I’m so evil! :))

I’m also on candy-giving duty at my house. Both of my parents went to a Halloween party and my little brother went trick-or-treating. I’m just watching Addams Family Values on Freeform.

Its only 5 but I self assigned myself candy duty mostly so I can eat chocolate

@snowfairy137 We’re giving out Dum-Dum Pops!

@ak2018 We’re giving out fancy chocolate thingies lol. We don’t get many trick or treaters so I think my mom just likes to buy candy she likes.

Right, so I’m dressed in my diy Alice in wonderland bunny costume, ready to start trick or treating

Wednesday Addams is my new favorite character! :))

My family has candy but barely gave any of it away because my mom and I left for my flute lesson right as the wave of people were coming down my street. My sister was at a friends house. More candy for us!

Halloween’s over - trick-or-treating at least - on the east coast. Very dark out. Almost 10p. Time zones are weird. People on the west coast are starting trick-or-treating while people on the east coast have been done for at least an hour.

I’m doing homework and then I’m going to watch Beetlejuice (a favorite of mine since I was little) with the lights out and eat candy. Happy Halloween to me!

@ak2018 Wednesday is the best! I love her!

Quick question: Who’s taking the SAT and why did you choose the SAT over the ACT?

I’m takin the SAT because Fuck the science section on the ACT and I’m someone that needs a lot of time to think even in classes where I have the highest grade such as APUSH i’m usually
the last one to finish

@snowfairy137 I literally love chocolate and I wish we bought it more often!

@frazzledazzle I was laughing so hard at the First Thanksgiving scene! :))

@droporain I’m taking the SAT because I really can’t deal with the ACT’s fast timing and the science section. After taking the PSAT, I’m feeling way more confident about it,

lol at @ak2018 same reasons
