My last day of school is Tuesday, and my best friend’s school district get out on Wednesday.

That sucks guys :(. My schedule’s been a little wonky. I’ve been done with one college’s finals for like 2 weeks, but I had the other one’s final last Friday after a week of no class. My high school, which I don’t have any classes at, got out last Friday.
Doctor Who. Mother of god.
I used to worship that show to such a disagree that in retrospect, it’s almost sickening. Not to be a hater towards anyone who enjoys the show. Even now, I can objectively say it definitely has its moments. But for me, a sizable fraction of the fanbase is borderline anathema. Given, there are viewers out there who don’t go absolutely bonkers when somebody says “Doctor Who” instead of “The Doctor”. But going into the comments section of a misleading Guardian article speculating about who the new Doctor is akin to entering a daycare filled with petulant children. We get it, you love Doctor Who. As if we couldn’t tell from your TARDIS-themed cover photo and insistence that Smith was the best Doctor (full disclosure: I was one of these people, so I may be projecting self-hatred upon the legions of diehard fans).
I watch Doctor Who but I’m not a super fan (I reserve that for Sherlock where I’m OBSESSED). My favorite Doctor was Smith when he was on the air, but I really like Capaldi. I can connect with the Doctor more on a personality level.
My favorite shows are Sherlock and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, but Doctor Who is way up there as well (all BBC-related shows. No shocker there.). I also like How to Get Away With Murder and Gilmore Girls.
I’m trying to decide between MIT and Yale for the third reach school I’m going to apply to next year (I’m not going to have half my schools be reach schools).
School gets out for me on Thursday, and I’m not going to be in classes on Thursday because I’m going to be in the school competition for Poetry Out Loud. Here’s the special stuff for this week (I have a lot going on):
Monday: Normal stuff
Tuesday: Miss mods 1/2/3/4 for band dress rehearsal; band concert that night
Wednesday: Before school jazz concert; holiday party in English; leave school early with jazz band for concert at a middle school
Thursday: Poetry Out Loud competition all day; leave school early for jazz band concert at the other middle school in town and at a veterans’ home
Friday: No school
My week is pretty boring to be honest, but here it is:
Monday: nothing special
Tuesday: Pride and Allies (my school’s gay-straight alliance) directly after school; winterguard at 7
Wednesday: blocking out a scene in our musical
Thursday: Emerging Knights (school leadership team) directly after school; winterguard at 7
Friday: nothing special
Last week before break! I’m gonna go to Chicago during break (and take a gander at UChicago while I’m there) so that’s something to keep me sane.
We’ve got a couple rehearsals for our musical (coincidentally enough, our musical is “Chicago”), including the featured tap dancers (of which I am one of), so there’s that. Pre-Calc test on Thursday. That’s probably about it.
I have tests/quizzes until Wednesday and Thursday/Friday should be chill. I know people that get out super early and I’m jealous haha
Hey Guys! Just been out for a little bit. So here’s some news:
- I finished my first assignment for my online class! Now I just have an non-APA and an AP paper to write by the end of this week.
- I also finished Pudd'nhead Wilson and while I liked the book, I hated the ending!

Monday: Spanish 2 Test, Finish and Present Research Project on Bioluminescence for Engineering Explorations, Finish Up Motor Test bed in POE
Tuesday: Finishing up Glory in U.S. History!
Wednesday: Nothing much!
Thursday: Start of Winter Break!

Monday: Medusa Exam (national Greek/Roman mythology exam Latin and Ancient Greek students take, I’ve gotten small awards in the past but I feel like I did badly this year orz)
Tuesday: Financial Literacy quiz
Wednesday: Saturnalia party in Latin, trig quiz in Pre-Calc
Thursday: Apollo and Daphne quiz in Latin
Friday: Reading quiz in Chem, WHY AM I STILL IN SCHOOL AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I don’t think any EC’s will be happening, since I’m betting lots of kids will be leaving throughout the week to go on vacation.
Monday: AP Psych Exam, AP Environmental Exam, Spanish 3 exam.
Tuesday: AP Lang Exam, AP Calc AB exam, Pre-AP Chem exam, AP Seminar Exam.
Wednesday & On: Netflix and chilllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Monday: Sleep, surf the internet, sleep some more, eat, and possibly study for the SAT
Tuesday: Sleep, surf the internet, sleep some more, eat, and possibly study for the SAT

Soooooo, it turns out I had a GHA due in Chem today that I forgot about but we had a sub, and it was a double period (most science classes take two periods two days a week at my school) so I just did it then. I would have been so screwed!
I’m so happy! One of my friends got into Duke, and I’m SO EXCITED for her!
@cliffnotes Same feeling. Someone from our school announced that they were recruited by Princeton. He’s such an amazing person and athlete. I’m genuinely excited for him. I don’t think this has ever happened at our school.
