@ak2018 oh either way UMich probably would put you in a LOT of debt.
@ak2018 I live around RIT, and it is a really good school! Just be aware of the extremely cold winters, and also the large presence of drugs (but probably only if you are around a certain kind of person that goes there).
@ak2018 Are you going to try for questbridge?
@Marg532 Thanks!
@solarsystem I am, but my GPA and SAT will probably hold me back.
I mean, for the most part, I’m not disappointed. I mean, I still have a chance at those schools, but I kind of knew that I’d likely be here in Virginia. If anything, I just needed more of a reality-check before I aimed too high and then got disappointed.
I just realized that the last month of the school year I won’t have weekly chapter packets for homework in APUSH and now I’m super pumped haha
How to Describe The Super Bowl 51 Game-winning Touchdown (Meme-Style): When you get an 89.5% that rounds to an A!
I got signed up for the March 1st SAT by my school but idk if I should take it bc I have college classes I’d miss. I need to take it at some point just for national merit but I don’t wanna :/. Already took the ACT and did fine.
TANKS
@snowfairy137 Just take the one they offer in june you just need a 206 SI on the SAT(thats what i read on a thread atleast) so you prob wont have to study for it and you dont miss any school and its summer.
@kassh4 yeah. The con to that is I need to take subject tests then, it would cost money, and its not summer for me.
I’m taking the SAT in April when my school takes it and the Subject Tests in Math 2 and Physics in June. I have APs in May. By taking the SAT and SAT Subjects so late I have all summer to prepare for retakes early next fall. That’s what I’m planning on doing.
My parents think I’m way smarter than I am and so they’re saying that I can only apply to Barnard if I also apply to Columbia… never mind that there’s no way I’m getting into Columbia, Barnard is a reach for me
@OneNormalKnight I can kinda relate. A few months ago, my mom would get upset with me when I told her I wasn’t considering applying to any Ivy Leagues, but recently she has sobered up. Still, as long as they’re willing to pay the application fee, you may as well give it a shot!
My report card came in! My GPA pretty much stayed the same, which I’m fine with. What’s funny is that despite being my first period class, Pre-Calc is at the bottom of my course list, so when you read my midterm grades, you see a string of A’s and B’s that abruptly ends with a F. ^^’ Thankfully, my transcript will only have my semester grades.
Guys very trivial question but which one sounds better for a title of my science fair poster board : The effect of blah blah on blah blah vs determining the effect of blah blah on blah blah
@Tobster18 Definitely “The effect of _”. This is a very common format for simple experiments and will do you fine at science fair.
So guys, I’ve found out and am applying to the Virginia Early College Scholars Program. All I have to do is go for an advanced diploma, which I’m planning to do, and earn a total of 15 transferable college credits, meaning I have to pass 5 out of 7 of my AP exams. It seems pretty great.
I’m looking into it now and it looks like I might be able to take some AP classes over the summer. I’m already planning to self-study those, so yeah, I’ll look into it.
@Tobster18 I agree with @java23. “The effect of ___ on ___” is simpler and the determination thereof is implied. Good luck!
Wow, there are some really rude people on here.
^^ Can you elaborate?
