@RMNiMiTz @singingwriting thank you! I’ve seen so many mixed feelings about APUSH, I don’t know what to believe sometimes lol. I’ve had the teacher before and I like his teaching style, so hopefully that’ll help too.
I took French 1 in 8th grade and continued with it, so this year I’m in Honors French 4 and will be taking AP French next year.
I’m going to have taken 3 years of French in high school, including next year’s college credit course.
I’ve never taken a foreign language in a traditional classroom setting. I took French online Freshman year and didn’t really like it. Heard that taking dual credit online would be better from my counselor. As soon I was eligible(Junior/Senior), I signed up for DC French 1 to refresh. Each semester of DC French, is a full year of hs credit, so I’m going to have credit for French 3 by the end of this summer. Pretty sure I’m going to stop there.
@Iridescentgaze 10 years +(French Language)
It’s pretty much compulsory for the National examinations
Does anyone know any good AP Physics 1 workbooks? The homework in my textbook is too easy compared to the actual problems that my Physics teacher gives on tests :(.
Hey y’all if you’re taking the SAT tomorrow read this
https://greentestprep.com/resources/sat-prep/test-day-preparation/day-before-your-test/
Good luck to anyone who is taking the SAT tomorrow morning!!!
@sewin2music Thanks a lot! I use the same textbook so those videos will definitely be super helpful.
For foreign language, I’ve yet to take it (bad idea I know), but I’m planning on dual enrolling German next year at a local community college. I would take German 1 first semester, and then 2 the second, and that would count as 2 full years at my school. I actually took Latin 1 online during my sophomore year but I never finished it because I disliked the format that was used to teach it.
@solarsystem Yikes, I wish my school system worked that way! As it is, every semester I take DE counts as only one credit for HS.
Good luck with German!
@OMPursuit Thanks!!
And yeah I’m happy it works out like that at my school. I only thought of doing this method after one of my friends told me that he was doing it also next year.
I’m taking my first SAT tomorrow and I’m not that nervous. I just hope I improve, even if it’s only by 10 points.
Also, I did my NOVEC Youth Tour interview today. After several wrong turns, we finally found the office. Once we got there, I sat down with my interviewers and they gave me a few papers pertaining to the program itself to keep if I get selected. Then, the interviewers asked me some typical questions, which I answered fairly well, but a little nervously. My answers included talking about my leadership skills, explain my essay on school choice, and why Neil DeGrasse Tyson is my STEM-piration. Overall, it went pretty well. I have a 62.5% chance of getting admitted because only 8 people applied and there are five spots.
There’s also another program called the Youth Leadership Conference that I would be available for throughout the program. Which would allow me to go in-depth into leadership. Either way, I’m really excited! I might just get into a program that houses 1600 students from across the country. It was, apparently, founded by former president Lynden B. Johnson and has been going on for more than 50 years!
The SAT tomorrow is my first one too but I have taken the PSAT through middle school till now so I have experience with that style of test. I probably ought to have prepared more, but nothing I can do now!
Just did science fair today. I placed first in biology and moved on to the finalist round. We will find out who advances to internationals next week sunday. Crossing my fingers and praying. [-O<
Speaking of which, does anyone know what admissions officers think of competitions?
Just took my first SAT and I really felt like the practice helped a lot. I had to blow my nose a few times during the reading portion, which slowed down my pace a bit. I also did really well with Writing. The math section was questionable. Also, did anyone have to do a 5th mystery section? We did and mine was an extra reading passage.
So I looked over Twitter and the 5th section caught a lot of people off-guard. Even our proctor was a little confused.
@ak2018 I think that sometimes they have “trial” sections. I took the January SAT and did not have that, but I believe I read on the collegeboard that they have sections like that occasionally.
I just started listening to this artist called 6LACK and I swear I’ve been living under a rock. I’m in such a chill mood right now. Really need to get on my Questbridge essays though…
@Hamlon Same I had to scratch my whole biographical essay cuz it was so trash.
