Courses for next year: AP Chem, AP Physics, AP Stats, AP Calc, AP Comp sc, AP Lang, not sure which social science and I will definitely need a study hall
I used to be INFJ! I just took one now and I got INFP.
I really don’t believe in these tests (I think they are about as useful as zodiac signs), but it’d be pretty interesting if we were ever able to accurately categorize human personalities.
Being in a school of 350 kids 7-12
My path I chose for my class is all health related base. As being accepted into this program called New Visions I will get anatomy and physiology, honors economics, honors English, community college credit for public speaking, Syracuse university credit for public affairs, and the ability to go to clinicals which most people don’t even get to experience until college. Then, when I return to my school because I have to go to a different area for this I am taking community college pre-calc, women’s history and human rights, french 4, and gym. I honestly do not know how I feel. I feel like I am doing the right thing for the health profession, but I do not know if it is good enough. Also, I feel waaaaaay lower in standards compared to many of you in here. I wish I could have the opportunities to take many of those AP classes. So, I’m just asking for any criticism or comments about my schedule.
I also cannot get the emojis down on this page, so that one totally does not work to what I was actually going for xD
FBLA conference was this weekend! My team won first in our event, and I placed fifth in a test open to all students. Headed to nationals in Anaheim this summer, couldn’t be more excited.
So, here’s my update:
Arrived at the olympiad finalists camp, which is huge and nice, but I’m too stressed to enjoy the scenery.
The bad news is: I’ve never been so awed and afraid in my entire life. So I saw an IMO silver medalist (graduated from Cambridge) and I was just like “Whoa, whoa.” I wanted to talk to him but…whoa…silver!
And then, yesterday, two returning students arrived (returning because they’ve represented the country in past IMOs). And I was like “Heeeeyy” in my head. Couldn’t even talk to any of them. They scare the ever living fluff out of me.
At this point, I just want to say that I’m really really nervous now and would be really really happy if I never saw another returning student.
And RIP to my dreams, because all 6 returning students are competing again this year. Argh!
@frazzledazzle I’m an INTP. It seems like nearly all of us are “IN__” :0
@ak2018 I totally checked out this week too. I fear for the lives of my APUSH and Chem grades… Hopefully Spring Break will let you go back with renewed motivation, at least, that’s what I’m banking on.
@julia35002 Don’t worry about AP classes, colleges will know what options you had. As long as you take the most rigorous schedule avaliable you think you can handle, you should be fine.
I found out that I was accepted into my school’s National Honors Society, which is exciting, but I don’t feel like I really did anything to get in. The criteria consisted of a GPA cut off and a form where you described some ECs, no essays or anything like that. What did/will you guys have to do to apply?
@LeopardFire It is difficult to get into my school’s NHS. Basically everyone meets the gpa requirement. You need to have 3 leadership positions and at least 20 hours of community service. Also, you need to write two essays, one on leadership and one on character. Very few people have the leadership considering my school barely has any clubs and there aren’t many options outside of school. Hardly anyone got in this year because of the lack of leadership. I applied, but I didn’t get in. I’m not going to waste my time applying again next year.
I’m an INTJ.
It’s really cool how there’s such a high concentration of INTJs on here, especially considering they only make up 0.8%-2% of the world’s population!
@LeopardFire We’re all introverts (obviously since we’re on here a lot) and we’re all driven by our intuition and minds rather than by sensing things since we’re all very smart, motivated people.
@carmen00 I think you have to do an application and be nominated by a teacher or something to become part of NHS. I don’t know. The adviser is speaking to my AP Language class either tomorrow or next week. I’ll find out then.
I get ENFJ a lot, but I feel like I’m more ENTP/INTP. I do have an introspective side and I feel like I’m an introvert, but I come off as very friendly and energetic and people tend to think I’m extroverted/generally not introverted.
Have you guys heard of enneagram? It has nine personality types/identities: (1) the strict perfectionist, (2) the considerate helper, (3) the competitive achiever, (4) the intense creative, (5) the quiet specialist, (6) the loyal skeptic, (7) the enthusiastic visionary, (8) the active controller, and (9) the adaptive visionary. I identify with type 3, the competitive achiever the most and I think many of you guys also identify with type 3.
At my school, the only requirement to join NHS is to have a cumulative high school (weighed) GPA of 3.5 or above. Starting from sophomore year, everyone who meets this criterion is given an invitation through Advisory. To officially be a member, you just turn in the form and pay the $5 dues. The club has one or two volunteering events each quarter and not many (~20) show up but every one (~70 people) show up for the yearbook photo taking. :)) Do people only come for yearbook photos at your guys’ schools too? It’s super obvious people do this at mine.
Can someone link me to the test that everyone is taking
@kassh4 I think there are several free Myer Briggs tests you can take online, I’ve taken several in the past that I got my type from.
@bubblylaugh I got 5, which the website I used called the investigator. Type 3 was actually my second lowest. I think I lack the motivation that I lot of you guys have. x)
@kassh4
Enneagram https://www.eclecticenergies.com/enneagram/test.php
Myers-Briggs https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
@LeopardFire I took the eclectic energies quiz and I got 9? I think I’m too skeptical and neurotic to be a 9, and my friends says that I’m a very argumentative person. I got 3, 4, and 5 as the second highest though. I have a love/hate relationship with these quizzes: I like the categorial aspect, but I find it frustrating because I never commit or am sure of what type I am. I do prefer enneagram to Myers-Briggs though, because it’s more broad and not black and white / either/or like Myers-Briggs.
I took the test. I’m INFP and my highest score was number 4 on the enneagram- the artist, followed by the thinker.
The problem with Myers Briggs is that it assumes that you’re entirely confident in your answers and are not misinterpreting the test questions. Being rooted in an actual interpretation of personality (trait theory), it definitely has merit, but the degree of unreliability limits its usefulness.
@frazzledazzle Just took the Myers-Brigg for the first time just now! ESFJ-A, not sure if good or bad :))
Just took the Myers-Brigg test! I got INFJ-T!
@LeopardFire For my NHS chapter, we had to fill out an application get two recommendations and write an essay In the application we had to describe all of our EC’s and different qualities we held such as leadership, etc.
I’m an INFP-A. I’ve taken that test at least five times and I’ve always gotten that answer
