I really don’t understand how some people don’t take any initiative in their college search. Like, college is where you should be able to become your own person. Two of my friends are just letting their parents suggest colleges and don’t really care where they go. It just seems crazy that people don’t make a choice for themselves when it comes to college.

Anybody else doing the Naval Academy Summer Seminar? I got in and I’m super excited 
lol CB goofed. There was some miscommunication and they released the SAT scores early. They were supposed to come out on the 10th, the day after late registration starts for the June test-sly dogs. They started to take back the scores and will rerelease them on the 10th for anyone that didn’t get to see.
So I was talking to one girl at school. She said she’s looking into UPenn. But she has an SAT score around 1000-1100, no leadership, and couldn’t even get into some honors classes at our school due to some lower grades. I understand a dream school, but she’s being completely unrealistic by actually believing she could go there. Idk, I feel like students in my school aren’t really being guided well enough in their college search. I mostly just go to my counselor for some reassurance on scheduling and everything, but other than that, everything I do is on my own.
@carmen00 That sounds exactly like my school. There is zero to no guidance about college. Honestly, I’ve had to do a lot of things on my own, which I don’t mind. But my school is very slack when it comes to helping us with college, SAT’s, etc.

There was just a murder-suicide at one of the local community colleges in my area. I was getting alerts because I take dual credit classes and thought it was just a small incident like someone making threats. My messages only said there was an intruder and not that there was an active shooter on campus. People are saying it was likely domestic abuse. This makes me so mad
Good news on the job search!! My dad introduced me to his friend who runs a company that does CAD and was pretty much like, “hey, do you need someone who knows SolidWorks and will work for minimum wage?” He was like, yeah! So, sent him my resume and examples of my work and hopefully I get the job! (The minimum wage here is $11 too so its pretty sweet)
I thought my minimum wage was good 9.75 ugh you’re so lucky. Though the wage is better than bordering states ex. PA 7.25, NJ 8.44.
Oklahoma’s Min wage is $7.50
Yeah it sounds good but across the state in Seattle it’s $15. So everyone’s jealous lol.
I’m in PA so min wage is $7.25 lol. I make $8.50 though so I can’t complain. My job is only from April to October since it’s an amusement park, but I want to get a job on the weekends during next school year because I need to save up some money. When I got my license, the first thing I did was get a job lol.
So I decided to start reading for AP Lit next year starting today with an audiobook. I’m going to try and read The Poisonwood Bible
I have French 4 next year which is mainly just projects and laziness senioritis. So I told my teacher I want to study and work for AP French and she loved the idea and believes I can do it. I am really excited for this and love the french language.
Was just approved for IB Physics HL and IB Chemistry HL next year! Most people would play it easy senior year, but I’m going all out 
Also, apparently getting between a 92% and 98% at my school is a 6. Happy to see the range that big, but at the same time, a 7 is 99% - 100% 
Looking to get a 6 as predicted when I apply for uni next year!
In my job last summer I made $0.25 above minimum wage - $7.75. It’s going to go up to $10 I think.
GOT A 558 on my Writing SOL! Just need to pass advanced my reading SOL and I’ll get a 100% on my final bringing me up to a B+ for the year in AP Lang.
Also found out my Pre-Calc final is literally multiple choice and all-calculator! :))
