@madison2000 I got my senior pics from a photographer who came to my school. I would say they are semi-formal? I don’t think anyone does anything super fancy or casual here.
I’m a little late on the r/AC2 discourse, but I definitely find them to be a bit hypocritical. To them, CC = Chance Me threads + helicopter parents, which they have their own fair share of, at least for the former. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with parents wanting to help their kids / advise others, either.
Early July is not going to be fun, I’m going to be hit hard with my June SAT while still grieving my AP exam results. ;-;
@LeopardFire I’ve started! I’ve also gone through several edits per the advice of my counselor (I share them with her on Google Docs and she makes comments and stuff).
Big tip: DON’T WORRY ABOUT WORD COUNT FOR YOUR FIRST DRAFT! Start big and cut it down later. That way, you don’t end up sounding general from the get go and that’ll be harder to edit.
Hey everyone! I don’t think I’ve been on this thread before, but college app deadlines are approaching and I’m getting nervous… I have no idea how to start my essays ;-;
Are senior portraits mandatory? I don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for professional pictures. Also, I think I did pretty bad on my AP Language test so I would rather the scores never come out so I can forget about it.
@xxluvforeverxx they’re not mandatory, but you definitely have to pay for at least your yearbook photo. Which shouldn’t be that expensive. I believe people at my school paid 55 dollars for that.
My school Paw Print had a section where they surveyed 100 seniors from the class of 2017 to comment how much money they spent(homecoming, grad bash in universal Orlando, prom, senior pictures, college apps and fees and etc). It’s so expensive!!! I won’t be surprise if I end up spending around 2000 to 5000 dollars over the next year.

I have been overcoming so many obstacles and have used that to help me try to improve my city. I am an activist, so I have started many of my own protests and tried to help better my city with all that I had. I am just dedicated to improving my city because there are some crazy things happening here.
I have an idea on what I am going to write about but I plan on starting my actual essay next week.
On another note I just found out my top choice released their supplemental essays and I have no idea how I am going to answer any of them, now I am really stressed out.
