High School Class of 2018

SAT scores coming out tomorrow. Cmon 700+ SAT USH score :smiley:

Wait do they come out tomorrow or Wednesday? I’ve seen two different answers from many different sources. I just don’t want to get my hopes up that they’ll come out tomorrow.

Update: I just checked College Board and it says they come out Wednesday but they start sending them to colleges tomorrow. Don’t know why it takes about six weeks for scores, especially if you don’t do the essay. :frowning:

Me: Time to brainstorm ideas for my common app essay!
Also me: But I literally have nothing to talk about why am I the most boring person I know???

@Marg532 I take bio and we did a project on cystic fibrosis during the genetics unit! We researched a specific mutation and made 3D models that we coded for ourselves and printed. I think genetics is a great unit to study!

@JasmineArmani There is the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, so some of the schools around it might be a few options :slight_smile:

Thanks @doctornc

Should be sleeping my mind is racing.
I was working on the common app honors section and most of my honors are pretty bleh. I have:
FIRST Dean’s List Semifinalist (10) (robotics team award)
Certified SolidWorks Associate (10) (Not really an honor but it fits best here)
NMSF (11)
AP Scholar with Honor (10) (I did DE full time after that so it’s not higher)
[Insert my DE college here] Dean’s List (11)

The last two are pretty redundant because the college’s already see my grades and AP scores so I was thinking of replacing one with

FIRST Lego League Regional Competition Judge (11)

It’s not really an ā€œhonorā€ but neither is my certification and it actually says something new. It’s important to me because only a couple high school students were asked to be judges and I was chosen because they know I have a lot of experience as an alum of the program and a mentor for kids in the program. Most of the other judges were older industry members or STEM teacher or coaches.

Should I do it?

put it as an activity @snowfairy137

@aspiringgirl cant, it was a 1 weekend thing

Go for it @snowfairy137 ! I personally thing NMF, AP Scholars, and any sort of Honor Roll don’t deserve to be in the Honors Section…besides NMF they’re super common, also NMF just says you can take the PSAT which they can already see w/ your test scores…Robotics is definitely more unique!

Good news… I’m one of the few Canadians that got a full 800 on the SAT US History test :)) :))!!

800 on Physics, 790 on Math 2!

@snowfairy137 Congrats :slight_smile:

@acmofysofa Thanks! Hoping for straight 800s but we cant get what we wish for now can we. That mistake I know I made on math is coming back to bite me eek

@snowfairy137 I really doubt the difference between your 790 and an 800 is anything. I’m sending in a 730 Math 2 to pretty good schools, and will be working on essays and having a good summer instead of studying day-and-night for an 800 :slight_smile:

@acomfysofa Well its hella impressive that you got an 800 on US History. I don’t think I could do that lol.

@happybird123 the essay / statements. i’m writing about the community i got from the snowball retreat my school does but i just keep sounding so cheesy

I got a 750 on my Math II but I was so sure I did worse than last time when I got a 740??? Like I left 10 questions blank lmao how did this happen

Also, I think I’m done with testing. I’m content with subject test scores. 750s on Math & Latin, 730 on Chem, and a 710 on Lit (idk if I’ll submit that but it’s still nice). I’d rather write essays than study for the tests at this point.

@jf09199 hahah same. Im writing about babysitting and and how it gave me a new sense of respect and ughhh i keep reading it and I feel like its soooo cliche.

@acomfysofa @snowfairy137 Felicitation!

@acomfysofa Lol were you on r/SAT this morning?

I thought I was done with testing, but I recently found out that you can get waived out of language requirements in college with SAT 2’s. I might take it sometimes coming up because I don’t want to choke on the AP test and then have to take Spanish in college since I hate it so much. UPenn has an oddly low score requirement. You only need a 450 on Spanish to get waived out of the language requirement, but Columbia and Yale are like 760 and 780.
