I GOT HAMILTON TICKETS! My bank account took a hit, but Hamilton was the first musical I got into and I finally was able to get tickets. Not until next July though.
This week will be mostly me cramming my summer AP English hw in lol. Whoops.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my plan for the CA essay. It’s practically foolproof.
Looking at the eclipse was spectacular!
Also, would someone mind looking over my JHU Home essay? I’m having writer’s block. PM me.
The eclipse was so beautiful! The museum I was volunteering at had eclipse themed programs and we got to stop work for 10 minutes to take a look.
Also I went to NY and bought BOTW and now I cannot focus but I’m having so much fun…
Full eclipse was awesome… we went and camped in public lands for free and there weren’t even that many people around. Gorgeous view too.
Just finished my JHU HOME fly-in application and decided that I’m going to wait a week before I submit my UPitt essays, so I can edit them more. I also emailed the Robotics club sponsor at my middle high school and it looks like I’ll start mentoring in September. I’m gonna work on my PEEP essay for the next few days.
I just did pro and con lists for 4/5 colleges I’m applying to, and I noticed a few things:
Sorry for the brain dump but I needed somewhere to spout all of my college research other than my family, who are getting very annoyed with me because they hear it so much haha
@Marg532 A pros and cons list sounds like a great idea (I’m gonna steal it). I wish you luck sorting things out! I’m sure you know this, but just in case, don’t forget that you can start clubs in college too. Sports may a little harder if they’re lacking the space/equipment though…
I just started swimming again after almost a year! I was really stressed out and busy back then, so I needed a break. Now I’m on a more lenient schedule and am enjoying myself a lot more. I really missed the water.
Also summer break is almost over for me and I still haven’t started on essays…
I visited Notre Dame this past weekend, it’s definitely risen on my list. It’s gorgeous!
I definitely just spent 5 minutes calculating the hours I spend in marching band per year instead of weeks per year while filling out the activities section of the common app :)) well at least I know that I spend an average 182 hours a year, including band camp, football games, fall competitions, and spring/summer parades, on marching band. Multiply that by 6.5 (the years I’ve been doing it) and I’ve spent approximately 1,183 hours of my life on blacktop, memorizing music and drill, and being generally exhausted haha
I have my orientation for Lehigh tomorrow yet I’m still sick! Ugh. Plus I have so much AP English hw to do but I don’t have access to my student account bc they reset all the passwords. Fun.
Gosh! The AP Biology hw I have is so confusing. I am assigned to read four chapters from the open stax textbook. Let me tell you all bio vocab is tedious. I have no idea what is going on until I reread a page for like three times. Anyone feel the same way? I need uplifting.
Note: Though I know you guys are very unaccepting, I am writing this to share my feelings. Don’t need to reply.
How in depth do you guys describe your activities on the common app? For instance, for club swimming would I have to say I do swim meets, practices, etc (even though that’s pretty obvious)? Or just leave it as club swimming and the championships I made it to…? And I also wanted to put art on there, but all I really do is art honor society. I’ve participated in a few zines and such, would I put that on the app too? Or is that too much information… And would I count the hours I spend practicing art in my free time as hours per week?
Got my senior schedule a few hours ago and I kind of feel a little disappointed since it feels like all my friends are literally in the same classes except me. Like they all decided to take AP Computer Science A at school, while I’m doing it online. All well, it’s nothing too bad to worry about. I didn’t have any scheduling conflicts. I’ll have to figure out who my teachers are on the first day since they didn’t email that to me nor my homeroom number. But hey, it’s better than waiting 15 hours for my schedule like last year.
P1 - World History and Geography from 1500
P2 - AP Psychology

Since my school is weird, my first day of school, I’ll be attending periods 1, 2, 4, and 6. The second day, it’ll be 1, 3, 5, and 7.
Got my senior pictures taken today!
Just submitted my application to Harvey Mudd’s fly in program! Its the only one I’m probably going to apply to (maybe one or two more but that’s it) because my only “minority” status is being a female (which is considered a minority at some STEM colleges lmao), and I really can’t miss too much school because my schedule this fall is crazy.
@snowfairy137 Have you considered CalTech’s fly in? They seem to have more of an emphasis on females than other fly in’s.
Got accepted to my first fly-in today. I only applied to 4.
@kassh4 I don’t think I want to go to CalTech but I’ll check it out.
@aspiringgirl Did you get into Rice or Amherst?
