@snowfairy137 The application seems to be really low-key for some reason. Let me know if you need a link to it.
So I had my Windows at Williams 30-minute phone call today and it really helped. The admission person answered some of my questions pertaining to the costs of applying and reviewed my app. She said that the essay I submitted, that I wrote at 2am in the morning right before I submitted the WOW application, was phenomenal and that it definitely seemed that I had a talent for writing. She also said they probably would have accepted me with my stats just the way they are, if I applied priority decision, and that my junior year grades and SAT score were what ultimately held me back. The second round was apparently lot more competitive since more people applied that round than the first. They did take note of my freshman year spent in a foreign country and of my rigorous senior year and said that I only really need to pull my SAT score a few more points, not by much, and reestablish my grade uptrend during senior year. Williams, in general, is pretty great with aid, so now I don’t even have to pay anything to apply, which is great. My county is charging $5 for every official transcript request after the first three requests, but I talked with and they said that they would accepted a counselor-signed unofficial copy. After this experience, I’m definitely planning on applying. even with their 3-2 Pre-Engineering program with Columbia. One tip I would say after this is to apply to these fly-ins EARLY, especially if they have different deadlines.
@snowfairy137 There was a point where I actually considered Harvey Mudd for a while, but decided against it because I didn’t want to have to take a plane to get to and from school lol.
@kassh4 I’ve heard you have to get invited to apply to one of their fly-ins.
Also, did anyone else apply, or is going to apply, to the Voices of Tufts fly-in? I’ve heard it’s easier than most fly-ins to get into.
@ak2018 Yea, I always heard that it was invite only but like last week I found an online app, and it didn’t say anything about invite only. The app doesn’t seem too long so even if it wasn’t meant to be open ot the public, the only thing you have to lose is like an hour of your time
@ak2018 I think they changed it to open to everyone this year actually.
“Caltech Up Close is open to all U.S. Citizen/Dual Citizens, U.S Permanent Residents, and Undocumented/DACA students graduating from a U.S. high school in 2018.” That is straight from their app.
@ak2018 I like flying lol. I’m small so that helps it not be so uncomfortable though.
Anyone else taking the SAT in like 10 hours?
@kassh4 can I have the link for Caltech up class’s application? I’m kinda curious now but can’t find it anywhere.
Starting school on monday!
@snowfairy137 Best of luck!
My current schedule looks ok but if I try to switch into Chem it will be all messed up…
Currently it’s:
AP gov, bio, human geo, lit, stat
Ceramics 3/4, draw paint 3/4
And a free block.
If I take Chem I will have to drop bio and drawing… But I feel like Chem is really important to understand well for college and there’s a great teacher for it…
I was on break during the SATs, and accidentally went into the guys bathroom. While I was washing my hands, the guys stood in a line outside all confused.
@xxluvforeverxx ;)) ;))
I swear the bathrooms at my testing site were like a mile away from the testing rooms :))
Hey, everyone, I got up to study for the ACT on the crack website and I do not know what I’m going to do. All the real ACT tests were taken down and it was the only way I studied for tests. I am unable to afford any practice tests books. The website still has practice material, but the real tests really helped me. I’m just so upset.
They got taken down?! :OOOO Permanently?!!
Yes apparently ACT asked them to take them down.

I missed the August SAT because of my cousin’s wedding, but I’ll be at the October one lol!
I got my class schedule and my counselor gave me AP Gov second semester. At my school, the whole class is crammed into one semester and it’s a lot of work. I’m trying to get it moved to first semester because I play softball second semester, and (I didn’t mention this to my counselor) but I plan to get a serious case of senioritis once I commit to a college. I emailed my counselor on Tuesday and she still hasn’t replied.
As of now, here is my schedule:
1st Semester
Creative Writing
Honors Zoology
Survey of Humanities
Honors Composition/Freshman Writing Tutor
AP Calculus AB
Biomedical Innovations
2nd Semester
Interior Design
Honors Zoology
AP Gov
Intro to Sociology
AP Calculus AB
Biomedical Innovations
@nyuhopeful44 Senioritis is a no! Fight it!
Interior design is a class I would love to take the heck.
