So I find out about my last, and current number one since I got waitlisted from my top school, tomorrow and I’m honestly not even nervous. This whole process has been so rough and I feel so beaten down that I feel hopeless and emotionless. I’m at the point where I’m ready to graduate but I’m not excited about any of my possible colleges.
@madison2000 my gut is telling me it’s going to be more than one night bc my date and I go to different schools. I’m not positive yet, as my prom is first, but I think he’ll ask me to his as well. So it’s like two proms for the price of one.
Anyone else here feel like RD for your school is working out better than early? All of my friends and I got slammed in December for T20 schools, but things seem to be looking up for most of us.
@writergirl0316 Nope not me… got deferred from only two schools and into all of my other schools for EA, got waitlisted from my two deferred schools, and expecting a deny from Duke (which comes out next week I think). Wish I could be happier about my college choices but as of right now I’m depressed and hoping that my top two schools (the ones I got waitlisted from) comes through before graduation in late May.
@writergirl0316 DEFINITELY ! I was really scared because I was deferred early and rejected from all kinds of scholarship programs and 2 BS/MDs.
Regular Decision I am 6/6 so far and have gotten into my dream program (Northwestern HPME 7 Year Med Program), most likely committing after I get my last 4 decisions. Don’t lose hope everyone! Good things come to those who wait. I am SO glad I didn’t apply ED anywhere.
@madison2000 I’m sorry! You’ll make a home for yourself wherever you go.
@LushLillies That’s amazing! Congratulations. One of my good friends got into Northwestern also after being scared that there was something wrong with her apps because of the first few results. About 20 of us applied to Ivies + Stanford early, and not a single one got in.
It feels like everyone in my class has already committed somewhere cause where I live the vast majority of people attend local universities with rolling admissions and the few who don’t apply ED and I couldn’t apply ED cause of financial reasons. I have to decide by April 11th to have my “future plans” slide at graduation and a spot in the souvenir section of the local newspaper and idk why they have to know a month and a half before graduation when May 1st would probably be ok.
I finished with being 6/10 in college decisions and I couldn’t be any happier because of learning so much from the college application process.
I got rejected from a scholarship today, which prompted me to have a slight internal crisis over paying for college (aided by the fact that I listened to not one but two federal bankruptcy judges speak in three of my classes today) which then led to me searching for a bunch of other scholarships to apply for.
Love having to pay for my college education all by myself!!!
I’m pretty glad my college process is a lot closer to being done. Aside from the three schools that waitlisted me that I have to hear back from, I’ve finally heard from everybody! I still have no idea where I’m going to go, but I feel more secure with my available options.
I woke this morning to what I find to be a cruel email from Oregon State University.
ROFL
I got a full scholarship to OSU. I’m crying so hard, you guys. I’m going to my dream school for free.
@neptuna That’s amazing! Congratulations!
Wishing you all a happy Ivy Day!
Ivy League D-Day is upon us!! Good luck to everyone checking later today from congrats to everyone who’s already chosen a college!
When I receive my last decision on Saturday ( I have a few waitlists to take care of still), I think I will begin writing a book on this whole college application process. (I think). Or I could just stay on CC and disperse my newfound knowledge, experience, and expertise to others. Any thoughts?
Guys I’m 3/3, got into Harvard, Yale, and the University of Minnesota. I couldn’t have asked for anything more
8/8 with Yale, Stanford, UPenn, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, and San Diego State. I have no clue how I am going to make this decision in a month.
@MatthewW12 8/8 with those schools? You must be some sort of god. Congrats on your amazing acceptances and best of luck making a decision!
Ended up 11/14…11 acceptances, 1 waitlist and 2 rejections…they were a bunch of art schools that I’m too tired to list. Rejected from my dream school, RISD, but that’s okay! I will be attending Ringling College of Art and Design in the fall!
