High School Class of 2019

@Shanban1607 Understanding concepts actually helps a lot more than just memorization.

@OMPursuit, I have Animation next term (basically the 2nd half of the school year), so I don’t know how it is. I’ve heard it’s pretty fun, and I can’t wait for it!

On another note, have any of you guys done CyberPatriots? I’m thinking of participating in it this year…

ooooo i hate band practice at 6:45 every morning :(( any band members here? wish me luck on my euro essay tomorrow, fitting about 100 facts in my head rn, we’ll see if it’s worth it tomorrow, or today i guess :))

@anan16 Good luck!
Honestly, how do you guys manage to do so well in your classes? I have 2 A’s right now in world history and honors English, and the rest are all C’s and D’s :frowning:
I wonder if my goal of UW GPA 4.0 is even possible now…

@Trafficlight24 any goal is achievable if you work for it :slight_smile: there really is no magic solution to good grades, just study, study, and study! Oh and ask questions too, whenever you are confused. It won’t make you look dumb, but will help you a lot on the future. I believe you can get your grades up, and wish you good luck doing it!

@anan16 I took AP Euro last year and my best advice is to not just memorize facts. Maybe your teacher is still teaching for the old version of the test, but the new test is based on concepts, trends, continuities, and changes. Also, understanding sticks in the brain, while rote memorization rarely lasts all the way until the AP exam. Many of my friends learned that the hard way and had a cram a ton in the first week of May.

My advice is to not take AP Euro lol

Just had my AP Chem quarter exam
There goes my life @-)

AP Chem and world are gonna be the death of me lol

@ZealousScholar Noope, I’m just gonna take university physics DE next year! :stuck_out_tongue:
I’d rather study for the F=MA exam…

@noplayallwork Yeah, I bet! Some teachers are really great. I still prefer not having that weight over my head.:frowning:

@ZealousScholar i get what you mean, but the facts i was referring to were ones i needed to list for my LEQ, which needs at least 11 facts, thus me complaining about the info i had to memorize

Also i think i made the same stupid mistakes on my chem test like i did on the practice one… 93 again :frowning: i overthink things so much and tend to not go with my gut instinct… Does anyone else deal with doubting yourself in exams, leading to you missing the one question you changed? I hate that :((

Oh, gosh, most certainly @anan16
That’s what always messes me up on the SAT :frowning:

hopefully my score isn’t too bad…

@anan16 Omg yes I always overthink questions, especially on the PSAT/SAT because there could be two possible correct answers, but only one answer is right, so then I waste time jumping between the two.

@anan16 I feel you.

Just came out to my dad! I didn’t even cry!!!

@anan16 YES I always overthink and spend way too much time on a single question and try to figure out some kind of pattern with the answers.

Congrats!!! :smiley:

Ugh yeah I took a practice PSAT on Monday on the car ride home from the grandparentals and got 130 points lower than normal

pretty surprised that i have free time this week, but i guess since it is the end of the nine weeks, things are slowing down. A nice break from the stress :smiley: i think i did well on my euro essay, but i feel i was too formulaic and didn’t have good transitions between facts, and repeated “another example” too much… i hate overthinking D:

How are your guys’ weeks going?

I had the first two days off for Columbus day/Fall break (my district is mean and crams it into a federal holiday :[ )!
Tomorrow I get a chemistry lab(!!!), then review for my calc exam on Friday. After that I’ll attend writing group (yess) and math club (which offers free pizza, so yesssss~ <3).

so all in all it’s gonna be lit

Thursday may be the start of my club(!) which would be the best thing, although it might get pushed back 'till next Tuesday if my sponsor doesn’t send the callout soon. :frowning:
I’m excited for whatever’s happening next in PoE (that class is so coool), so that’s something to look forward to!
Later that night, I have show choir! I’ll be passing off my first song… Wish me luck. 0.o;

Friday is exam day. Eeep!
I really feel ready, though! I’m gonna nail it! Yeah, gettin’ pumped already!
for real, guys
