@literallyliteral CONGRATS!!! :))

I exchanged PLTW Intro to Engineering Design with AP Environmental Science. Now, I have the following classes:

-AP Calc AB
-AP Psych
-HNRS English II
-AP Environmental

The only downside is that I have two AP exams on May 1: AP Environ in the morning and AP Psych in the afternoon.

At my school SL courses are one year classes.
I wish I could take chemistry as an HL because it’s my favorite science, but the only science HL at my school is biology and I’m not very interested in that.

My school is pretty small so there are a lot of limitations on class offerings and even if I plan my schedule perfectly, I might not be able to take certain classes.

@IAmNotCreativ That must suck, sorry :expressionless:

Are one-year SL courses common in the US? I’ve seen quite a few schools doing it, but it’s pretty much unheard of where I live (and there are a good number of schools around here…)

@VaporeonKid yeah SLs at my school are one year classes too.

My school does not have IB. I cannot believe that our sophomore year is already halfway over. I remember when we were first starting high school :-?

I know right! it always makes me so sad and nostalgic

Aannnd my showchoir competition is over. Time for the awards ceremony… 0.o
then I have to wake up early tomorrow, help out with science olympiad

Seriously! How do we only have 4 months of school left (for those of us that get out late…)?

I… don’'t even know. p~p
Time is going so much faster this year! Maybe we’re just having fun? o.o @literallyliteral

we need to get less fun

agreed! i also have 4 months before summer and i can’t wait

what are you guys planning to do during the summer? i’m waiting on a couple of summer programs but i’ll probably be studying for the sat/act and volunteering locally too!

@VaporeonKid I’ll be applying for a few summer programs. Failing that I’ll work on my hobbies, travel with the fam, and hang out with friends. I might even study for the AMC/AIME, 'cuz those problems are fun. I won’t be taking another summer class, though; this year has been so whack that I need the break.

Speaking of applying, my professor just emailed me back about a letter of rec. Yess…

I applied to do a paid internship at either NC State, UNC, or Duke, but I’m not sure if I’ll get in because it’s for economically disadvantaged students but my guidance counselor said I should apply anyway so I applied. I applied to a few other summer programs too but I’m more excited about the internship! If I don’t get into that, then I want a summer job. I really want to work at the YMCA summer camp but I’m not old enough for that so I might work for the City of Raleigh. Other than that I’m just going to hang out with friends, and then I’ll be going on a trip somewhere with my family! I don’t know where we’re going yet but I really want to go to the Galapagos:)

This is the first year I’m taking a break from year-round school so I’ll finally have summer break and I’m pretty excited about that. I’ll most likely have rowing over the summer but in addition to that I want to get a summer job. I’m probably going to apply to a few summer programs and I’m debating going to a theatre camp.

Even scarier is that in 4 months I’ll be half way through high school. Wow.

This summer, I hope I can get a paid research internship at a local university. (If not paid, maybe at least I can get a decent science fair project out of it. ) Also, I’ll be traveling with my family to see the solar eclipse in August. Other than that, I have the USABO Open Exam coming up soon. I can’t believe it’s next week! I hope I can make semis, and if I’m really lucky, I might have somewhere to go in June.
