@myactualname A lot of AP Freshman courses are not taught properly. For example, I am taking AP HUG, but we have not even finished all the content, and test is in May, so I have to self-study at the last second. Don’t worry, your not missing out anything.
This is true, I have ap world and the class is a joke. I’m reading Barrons now to pass the exam in May.
Anyone here know anything about Capstone (Seminar)? I got into it for sophmore year, yet I don’t get the 100% gist of it neither am I sure that I want to take it for next year (although I do get AP weight for it).
In my school it’s basically writing papers on something you’re interested in. it sounds like a lot of work though so I didn’t take it
Current schedule; school doesn’t offer Honors classes at all and no freshman APs:
Band II
Freshman English
PLTW Design and Drafting for Production (Weight 1.1)

Pre-AP World History (Weight 1.1)
Tentative Sophomore Schedule:
Concert Band

I go to a Magnet School so we have tons of AP classes but most are not an option till junior year which sucks.
Current Schedule:

Honors Integrated Math I (Basically Algebra 1, incredibly easy class)
Advanced Honors English 1

I currently have a 3.3 GPA and I am shooting for a 3.5. I have no real desire to attend an incredibly selective schools so I’m pretty content with my grades.
I plan to go into politics and have already worked on campaigns and volunteered on some too.
Also planning on running for class VP.
Sophomore Schedule:
Honors Chemistry
AP World History
Honors Spanish II
Honors Integrated Math II
Advanced Honors English II
Personal Finance + P.E
Study Hall (I want to take a class but my counselor won’t let me take the classes I want to take.)
You should still try to have a high gpa for full rides at less prestigious universities.
My Sophomore Schedule
AP Stats
AP Chemistry
AP Comp Sci
AP US History
Honors German 2
Honors American Literature
@Foreboding I’d recommend to continue the math sequence rather than to take AP Stats
@chicago55215 if you think you can do it, go for it, but I don’t know if your school offers math past calculus which is why I wouldn’t do it. my school only offers up to calc 3 so I’m not skipping any more math classes lol
My school offers up to calc III as well. I plan on taking math over this summer and next summer as well.
@Foreboding Wait. You guys are already taking calculus in freshman year!!!
Some kids are, I am. It’s not on the normal track however, the school really only wants kids taking up to pre calc freshman year. So they have 3 years of school math.
@Foreboding Are you USAMO?
Nope.
Ok…
I might try it next year.
AP Stats sounds like a waste of time. You could take that DE in one semester
AP classes consume a lot of time in general
