High School Class of 2020

@Alt903 I’m not sure… there are probably other schools that have online programs like this. At my school it’s online with an on-site teacher supplement, so we still have to go to school. :expressionless:

Is my future sophomore schedule competitive?

PE
Precalculus
AP Biology
AP Euro
Chemistry
English honors
Shakespeare
Spanish 3

@Alt903 Are precalc, Spanish, Shakespeare, or Chem available in honors? It would certainly be a very impressive schedule for a sophomore at my school.

@alt903 pretty competitive. freshman at my school need to get 90% or more on a crazy algebra test to be in precalc.

Doesn’t really matter though, I’ll just go up to calc ab

Looks good! What about mine?

Sophomore year (I put the weight of each class in parentheses):

Advanced English 10 (4.5)
Chemistry (4)
Physics* (4)
AP Euro (5)
AP Computer Science Principles (5)
AP Calc AB (5)
Spanish 3 (4.5)
Debate (4)

*I would take AP Physics 1 with no Chemistry, but all of the current sophomores I know who are in AP Physics 1 have been struggling and getting Cs and Ds (and they are all very good students).

Really good @nerdy01 I personally wouldn’t take so many aps but if you’re driven it should be fine.

Precalc is 2 years above my grade level while the rest are 1.

@nerdy01 I haven’t taken any ap’s. That being said, your schedule looks pretty rigorous and competitive. Good luck in all of your classes!

@Bobbybob444555 @Alt903 Thanks! When does everyone’s school end? Mine ends in exactly three weeks, on May 25th.

Ok… I am actually obsessed with the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack and it’s a problem… I have National Science Olympiad in two weeks and finals in three weeks. Anyone else listen to it?

@nerdy01 school ends in June 10 I think

@nerdy01 June 12th is last day of classes for me, but there is a two week period of testing that follows where we have to come in for finals and Regents (state standardized testing). The most annoying thing about it is school doesn’t OFFICIALY end until June 28th (I think?) So we have to come in in the two final days of school (where we basically do nothing). sigh

My last day of school is June 1st!! 19 more school days left!

@collegeready33 lucky, at least it’s finishing. Everything is AP and standardized testing now.

Super scared to be taking the SAT 2 in Biology on the 3rd tbh… :((

@onlyworthypotato Your school finishes early! We still have a few weeks.

Good luck on the Biology SAT and hospital volunteer application. Are you not taking AP Bio? I thought it was better to take SAT subjects tests after that AP class (so Biology SAT after AP Bio).

Looks good @onlyworthypotato. I still have 2 weeks of school left. Did everyone get the grades they wanted and accomplish everything they wanted to do this year?

@myactualname I didn’t take an AP Bio class but I had a really good Honors Bio teacher and constantly spent my time learning extra things for Bio just because so I figured why not get one test out of the way because junior year is gonna be hell with all the tests :stuck_out_tongue:

@onlyworthypotato Hope you do well.
