Recently, I’ve really gotten into BTS and I’m so done with school rn. Only 6 full days and 2 half days of school til the break! It snowed here today but I was sick so I didn’t get to go outside
@nerdy01 You like BTS too? I just recently discovered them, and I like a lot of their songs, especially House of Cards and Blood Sweat and Tears.
@Mahindra Yeah, I love BTS! House of Cards and BST are two of my faves. Have you heard Go Go from their newest album and Awake (Jin’s single from WINGS)?

PSAT scores!
I got a 1290 (690 RW/600 M). Kinda disappointed in my math score, but I knew I bombed it. Second highest in my class, noncompetitive school

I got a 1360 (740 R/620 M). Looks like we both have to improve on our math! 
I was expecting a 1400 though due to the Khan Academy tests. Im kind of disappointed because my friend got a 1420 but oh well
Our PSAT scores don’t come out til Wednesday
@nerdy01 Same! I’m very nervous because I thought it’s harder than the SATs I took over the summer for prep…

I stayed up all night waiting for scores, and it turned out they didn’t even come out until 6 AM today!
I’m frankly a little disappointed with how I did: 1440, 700 on ERW and 740 on Math. I’d been hyping myself up to get higher. If I were a junior, I would’ve missed the NMS cutoff by 2 points (it’s a 216 where I live, and I got a selection index of 214), but I would’ve probably made Commended Scholar.
Got a 1440! 700 EBRW, 740 math, just like you, @phanakin . Honestly, I’m pretty happy with my score. Highest in my class at a pretty noncompetitive school. Didn’t really study too much so hopefully can be NMSF next year. It’s pretty hard though in CA, where the cutoff was 222, which is like a 1470 or something.
One person did better than me in my class with a 1410 - and only one junior did better than him with a 1440. He’ll be the only person from our school to make NMF this year, we had two last year
@ltwixster congrats!! getting highest in your class is no small feat, not to mention that it is California. I think, for Class of 2018, the NMS cutoff was a 1470 as well.

Your scores are really high in math! What did you guys do?
@Mahindra I’m a little ashamed to admit that I didn’t study at all. I didn’t even touch the student guide they handed us because I’d just been swamped, but I did do considerably better on the section without a calculator than I did on the one without (perfect score on w/out calculator, missed 4 on w/).
I think the important thing to have a strong grasp in is algebra tbh, and making sure that you read the question very thoroughly. But algebra seems to be the main basis for most of the questions.
I got a 1000 (450 Math, 550 Reading & Writing) and yes, I know that is horrible. All I know is that I was not feeling 100% the day of the test, and don’t think it’s accurate reflection of my academic abilities at all.
@phanakin - its a bit strange to note your math score (740) and raw score (4 missed/incorrect) - I got the same 740 but missed only 2 questions (incorrect). wondering if they scale only to even numbers? or is there a difference in scaling with omitted vs incorrect answers.
Anyway congrats on the good score - i didn’t do as well in EBRW with a 680. But then again I knew right after the test itself - that I didnt do well in the writing part of the test - and it showed in the real score.
I got 1220 which I hate so I’ve ordered sat prep books so I can do well next year
