High School Class of 2020

Am I the only one who is not planning on taking 4 years of science?

By the end of this school year, I’ll have already taken 4 full years of science credits (actually 4.5 because of a semester science elective). But I might go into STEM, so there’s that to take into account. :smiley:

@Max147 the max is 5 at my school (and ap science classes have an additional lab class every 2 weeks) b/c/they don’t want kids getting sups stressed lol.

NEW REVIEWED SCHEDULE:

AP U.S. History
AP Microeconomics
AP Lang and Comp
AP Statistics
Honors Precalc
Honors German 4
Chemistry

@thehhs12 I will be taking “four” years of science, but it’s also kinda not “four” years. Basically, in our school, they have a science elective, Astronomy, which you can take as an elective in junior or senior year and/or take it as a core science course in senior year if you’re getting an advanced studies diploma. This is the science I’d like to do in senior year.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you’re not taking four years of science? It’s a good idea to take four years, even if they are all regular leveled, and you’re not planning on majoring in the STEM field in college.

Have a good day!

Omg guys! I just realized for AP Lang at my school, WE HAVE CLASS ONLY TWICE A WEEK! That’s means I get a free period three days of the week, WHERE I CAN LEAVE CAMPUS! I’m shook!

@ab2002 That’s very interesting! Congrats! Enjoy the free period.

In our school, we rotate an A/B Block schedule, so besides having seventh period for 52 minutes every day, we go to 1st, 3rd, and 5th period for 85 minutes each one day, and go to 2nd, 4th, and 6th for 85 minutes each one day. Thus, we’re used to having some classes two times a week depending on the week.

Have a good day!

At my school, AP Lang is listed as only one semester, which is concerning because it’s a full-year class. They also never actually have an AP Lang class. They list it in the course description guide, but either not enough people sign up or they decide they’re not prepared to teach it or something I’m not thinking of.

I signed up for AP Lang on the off-chance that they actually do teach it next year (which they probably won’t, so I’ll probably have to change my schedule) :P. If it does happen, I’ll have a tough semester trying to fit everything in!

@anthonytheboy We’re on the same schedule on Wednesday and Thursday every week. It’s crazy, but I am super nervous that I am going to be crushed by these classes next year. If I don’t take them, then I will probably not be in the top 10% which is like not okay for top schools.

@ab2002 I absolutely get it! I’m on the same page as you! I feel scared for classes next year but know that if I don’t take tough courses, it can hurt me later. The biggest problem for me is picking between 3 or 4 APs and reg vs AP Physics 1.

Have a good day!

@anthonytheboy OMG WE ARE LIKE IN THE SAME POSITION! I can’t decide whether to take 3 or 4 APs, like between taking both Econ and Stats, or just Stats. I guess I’ll see on Monday.

@ab2002 Lol, I am having trouble deciding if I should sign up for AP Econ. XD.

Have a good day!

You guys must go to really competitive schools! I’m in the top 30 people out of 700+ in a top 1000 school and I’m taking 3 APs max next year, maybe only 2. Good luck you guys! And to be fair, we still have to finish second semester sophomore year.

@HS student. Thank you! Good luck to you as well!

Have a good day!

take 4, just do it, don’t let your dreams be dreams

@ab2002

@ab2002 I can’t decide betweeen stats and Econ either. I wanna major in Econ so I wanna have taken ap Econ jr year, but the course is mostly seniors. Stats isn’t as helpful for majoring in Econ but it’s mostly juniors so all my friends are taking stats.

@HS student i think that it’s impressive that you’re in the top 5% of your class :slight_smile:

hmm. ap bio, apush, ap english, bioethics, precalc or algebra II (both honors), latin 3 or latin lit (both honors). let’s hope that junior year doesn’t kill me!

i hated AP Biology

@Foreboding why?
