ASUKAM:
Hey, if you applied in late february does it mean that you applied late?
i think HKU will consider your application after they have reviewed other ‘on-time’ applications. I am not too sure about when they will give you your offer, but it will probably be after they made decisions for ‘on-time’ applicants. It’s just my opinion, so it would be beter if you email them and check up on the status of your application.

KYUBAEK90:
Hey congrats mann!!
i think there is a high chance that i will be going to UST if i meet the conditional offer. I was just asking one of my friend who lives in HK, and he said UST>HKU for all business related majors apparently
I guess i will reserach a bit more and then decide before sometime next week…

Hey just a quick question to all-
can i submit my deposit into both HKU and HKUST just incase i dont meet the conditional offer? Hopefully after IB results come out, I can withdraw either HKU or HKUST’s offer?
any thoughts on this?

To all those IB diploma candidates:
Do we have to arrange with IBO to send official examination scores to unis in HK or is it enough if we just send a photocopy of the results once we receive it in our mailbox?

haha yay UST! Now I’m getting scared about the male:female ratio there but it’s cool :p

oldnite1: As for deposit money, I’m quite sure that you can, and I’m also sure you won’t get the money back either.

And you probably need to send the official results sent by IBO. I at least know that I have to request my school to send my IB results after graduation, and the deadline set in my school for that is the end of next week. In your case you’d need to send them to all three schools? It’d be weird for them to receive an applicant’s results who withdrew their admission offer :p

Muntasir - Oh nice to see someone who applied for the same major! I applied in late January. I’m doing full IB DP, and I’ve been getting something like 38/42 - 40/42. I also took the SAT and scored 2180 and did three SAT 2’s as well. And I’m a musician so my EC’s are full of musical activities.

Hope that helps! If you’re too anxious, you should also email them to find out they where are in the process!

You can submit your deposit to as many Universities as you wish to but it isnt refundable. I did the same with US, so as to keep a safety option just incase the worst case scenario does happen and I cant make it to Hk!
HKUST has asked me to submit my official transcripts to them and so our IB coordinator will send them the official report directly, so it should be the same for you too!

chriskim12: A lot of us had a discussion on the male:female ratio long back in this thread and even on the facebook group and it freaked all of us out !! Once in HKUST may the best man win !! haha…

@oldnite1,
Thank you so much for your info. I emailed the international admission office, and they replied as “please wait patiently” =[
Anyway, thank you!
FYI, I heard that HKUST has been winning a lot of international business case competition, which means they might have a higher academic level of Business education than HKU.
Good luck with everything!

Thanks a lot guyz really happy with the scholarship. Btw ppl who already got accepted into HKU, wat did u guyz plan for the hall? Um kinda confused… pls do share!

@ ASUKAM- I applied during the end of Jan. Um basically doin my A lvls under EDEXCEL nd they gave me the consideration of 2 A’s (or above) nd 2 B’s (or above).
