<p>@Jbauer. 35 points for IB and a 4 in English A1. I guess its alright.</p>
<p>if u can get accepted, that is basically an unconditional offer lol</p>
<p>@verystressed. How much scholarship did they give you?</p>
<p>@zhuangzi- only 30,000 HKD for 3 years.</p>
<p>Can someone who has experience help me with the questions in my previous posts 2 days ago? Pls… Thks!! (:</p>
<p>h1every01
maybe you could go to the future HKUST international students page on facebook and ask them the questions you have. they are pretty fast in replying over there, and the people replying you are mostly current HKUST students. a lot of them are engineer majors (:</p>
<p>hey guys,</p>
<p>i am a future undergraduate student who applied to HKUST’s “Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management”. I have been offered an interview 3 weeks ago which i feel i have done successfully. HKUST told me that they wud give me a decision in a “couple of weeks” 2 weeks ago. Approximately how long will it take for me to get the decision? Also, do people who get interviewed have high chance of getting accepted? thanks</p>
<p>Has anyone from the US heard from HKU yet? It’s been forever and I still haven’t gotten any news yet after my interview =(</p>
<p>what did you apply for? I think most people have gotten offers already. Unless you are applying for special stuff (like med or law)…</p>
<p>The IBGM program I’m hecka worried nowww.
I haven’t heard from HKUST either D:</p>
<h2>@vanialiu- That’s weird…cause we did our interviews around the same time (same day, I think), but I already got accepted to IBGM. Good luck!</h2>
<p>BTW, question: what happens if you fail your conditional offer? Like if they say 5 5’s on AP’s and you get 3-4 5’s? Will they just return the offer? THat’s SCARY.</p>
<p>Hi guys,
I am a local student (not Chinese) doing the International Baccalaureate in Hong Kong.
I have a of predicted 33/42 (after my first semester of year 1 IB)
I intend to apply to HKU and HKUST for their respective BBA program.
From what I know, a score of 34-35 is sufficient to enter these programs? Has anyone got an offer for the coming September for BBA? If yes, could you please inform me what was the predicted score you had prior to your application. Cheers</p>
<p>Also, more importantly, I was wondering if any of the students who got offers for BBA at HKU or HKUST were doing Math Studies? Or is Math Standard Level the minimum requirement?</p>
<p>Looking forward to your views.
Cheers</p>
<p>@Michaelliu - Unconditional offers? Probably if you win the nobel prize
@vanialiu - You can try emailing them (which may put your application to a little risk since you may “force” them to make a decision) Or call them up, since if they made the decision already, they would let you know - I rmb what I did was telling them I had to reply other universities somewhere, so they told me I was accepted a day after via email.
@verystressed - they give you a little “buffer”, so if you are slightly off you are alright
@messi - Math Studies will definitely not help, probably hurt your application for all BBA degrees
@h1every1 - I dont think you will be getting toffees</p>
<p>Good luck to all of you</p>
<p>@vania-I emailed them once before I got accepted by HKU, and another time asking about IBGM. Both times they didn’t really reply, but said they “hoped it would be decided soon.” But my mom called them and they told her through phone, and an hour later I received the decision!
@TheGrand- That’s a relief! Okay then I guess I don’t have to worry too much, since 4’s are hopefully the lowest scores I’ll get.</p>
<p>Hi guys,</p>
<p>I have been invited to an interview for QFIN at CUHK. Does anyone know what they are going to ask me? Is is just “normal” questions about why I wanna go to CUHK or will they ask specific questions realted to Quantitative Finance?</p>
<p>What kinda questions have they asked you about?</p>
<p>Please, help me. Thanks</p>
<p>Christoffer
well i applied to HKU but i guess interviews would be roughly the same. first of all they will ask you to introduce yourself (i didnt expect that how stupid. so i basically didnt sell myself good enough D: ) yes, they will ask you why you chose CUHK, why you chose to study in HK, why that particular course, how does this course at CUHK differentiate from the same course in other universities, and sometimes they will throw in a surprise question relating to the major you’ll be taking. get the answers prepared for the general questions, think about how you can contribute with your major to the world/a major company/organization etc., and usually at the end of the interview you can ask questions. it helps to ask questions relating to your course, or just ask anything you want really (like how fierce is the competition this year haha).oh and they’ll probably ask whether you applied to other unis, if you said you have and you’ve gotten an offer, it might push them to make a faster decision)
chill, relax, i’m sure you’ll do fine.
all the best with your interview!! hope you’ll get an offer soon ;)</p>
<p>@rissah. Thank you so much for your answer. Hehe I’ll try to relax a bit :)</p>
<p>christoffer
no problemo. are you applying from denmark? (saw from your location)
did you apply to other HK universities or universities outside HK? (:</p>
<p>@rissah. Yes I’m from Denmark and I’m Danish as well. Applied CUHK, HKU and HKUST in HK and I’m still waiting to hear from the two latter. I applied to LSE (didn’t get in though), Warwick (haven’t heard from them) as well. I have been accepted to some other universities but if I don’t get admitted to a univesity in HK, I’ll probably take a year off to earn some money because I really need that to study in e.g. the US, or maybe even HK (have no college fund since it’s free to attend universities in Denmark ). </p>
<p>Where are you from?</p>
<p>I got accepted by UBC & U of T, but I’ve decided to make HKU my first choice after dealing with them. Dealing with HKU has made me realize how much more awesome they are.
- efficient staff- they reply to your emails within an hour
- 3 years (this is the last year, but oh well)
- great programs (IBGM!)
- more personalized/ smaller classes
- consistent world rankings (McGill-19 in QS, 35 in THES. What?)
- high quality of students
:)</p>
