@mathaddict and @Flaminrash
yo~! im going to HKU too this Sep. So Starr Hall is the best and how about St.John’s College or Lee Shau Kee Hall??

@christoffer
congrats! I am still waiting for my reply. I put BBA as my first choice, hopefully i can get in… But I thought BBA doesn’t require interviews?

flamingboy93:
Apparently every course at HKUST requires an interview. So yeah everyone will get an interview call before being admitted.

btw… has anyone already applied for the visa? :s

@uhneetuh

i know what you mean, i had the exact same thing written on my acceptance letter, and i was more worried than confused at the time. i re-checked the website though and it said:

The BBA and BBA(Acc&Fin) programmes share the same JUPAS code. Upon admission to the University, students are required to enrol in either one of these programmes.

So i am HOPING that I will get to choose the BBA one (cuz honestly i don’t wanna do acc & fin). I really am not sure when we declare or enrol in anything so i can’t guarantee anything about that :(

I have indeed heard about the other halls, but i have a few friends at hku that told me that the other halls hardly have any international students in them and that i’d be far more comfortable at the starr hall…i guess it depends mostly on whether you are a local or non-local student

@Flaminrash
oh ok. then I think I would be also going to starr hall. btw have you applied for visa yet?

Hey People I read that some indians are there in HKUST. Please help, I am an Indian student in Delhi. I applied to HKU and HKUST in December 2010. My cbse board result will be out by may 2011 so till then i have to wait. What is the min percentage in cbse boards to get admission in HKUST. I did not get any calls regarding the interview till now. Do you guys think there is any problem with my application? Please reply soon.

@kevobest
U will be going to starr hall?
I have a frnd in starr hall, but simon k.y.lee is closest to the engineering faculty.
so um confused between starr and s.k.y.lee.

have u already applied for the visa?
im going to apply next week, any idea how much bank balance i am supposed to show??

any one else going to hku engiineering???(apart frm kevo)

Would b gr8 to know people b4 going to hku!!!

hey all…im a newbie here
I applied to hku(non jupas) for BDS and just got an email asking me to go for an interview at PPDH in hong kong.
Has anyone been for hku dentistry interview before? Is there a manual dexterity test?
Please share your experience or any info…it is so appreciated! thanks :D

@Addie91

Hey did you select BDS as your first choice? When is the interview?

@kevobest

haha no i don’t need to apply for visa because i am a permanent resident in hong kong. you’re probably thinking, well then why does he wanna stay with international students? i lived in hong kong for 8 years, then moved to singapore, and here its been nearly 10 years for me, but i maintained my PR status in hong kong so i applied as a local (easier to get in and much cheaper) - so yeah as you can see i am a local, but not really local, which is why i’d prefer to stick with internationals and hence i’ll be going for starr hall

congrats to those of you who got into HKU!
I chose BBA as my first choice as well, so I am anxious to know when you guys applied and what your specs - in terms of IB/SAT scores, etc - were. please be generous to share :]

i keep email them but no response back, what should i do?

wow many are getting their decisions now…congratulations to all who got in to their university of choice!

can’t remember who started the hall topic…
but apart from starr hall…i heard lee shau kee is good too.i think in general all halls that are newer are better imo.
waiting on verystressed’s campus tour report~

@shaurya16
I’m an Indian student, applied for Engineering. I’ve been waitlisted. I think minimum percentage should be 85+ or 90+. How were your boards ?
Mine were okay, not too good. Expecting somewhere near 93
You ?

@jbauer24
Yup…i chose BDS as my first choice…interview is on d 18th april :)

@Addie91
Wow… you have to go to HK for the interview right? You have like a week…

A couple of days ago I got admitted to the BBA at HKUST and now I got admitted to Quantitative Finance at CUHK as well so now I’m pretty torn between which university and programme I should choose.

I would like to become an investment banker after graduation so I’m thinking QFIN might be better but again HKUST is slightly above CUHK in rankings.

If you could give me any advice on what you would do, it would be great.

Thanks.

@kevobest

haha hi. what are you gonna study in HKU and where are you from?
