HKU or HKUST

hi guys , just got an email from hkust asking me to upload my high school g10-12 transcripts… hope its a good thing !

and i had my interview with hku last tuesday , still waiting for a reply from both Unis. hopefully by this month (april) =)

hi guys,
if any of you guys got into BBA (just BBA) at HKUST and you’ve done A levels, can you tell me your conditional offers?
Thanks!

@Christoffer. Do whatever you like man. If QFin would help then take it. Honestly, rankings does not really matter now cause CUHK and HKUST are pretty close… take whatever you feel most comfortable with and best for Investment banking.

@christoffer
definitely HKUST. like DEFINITELY. NO WORRY
@mathaddict
yo! hi. Im currently in my last year of secondary school in Malaysia, but Im actually Korean!! what about u?

@geezee
lol… i don really mind walking like 5-10mins to the faculty, so Im definitely applying for starr hall for my first choice. I havent applied for visa yet!!! do you know whens due?? no one told me and cannot find anything about it
@matchaddict
i got in for general engineering. i need to choose after i study there for 6months…
@everyone
Im more worried about my A-level exam right now… I failed my mocks… Need to study freaking hard from now on to meet my conditions. wish me luck!!

I was just rejected from the admission to actuarial science and they are still considering my 2nd choice Quantitative finance. Do you guys think that I will gain entry for my 2nd choice? And since my 1st choice was rejected, does it mean that I won’t get any scholarships for my 2nd and 3rd choice?well since i failed my 1st choice?

Got into CUHK BBA ^^

@jbauer24
yeah…and i have no idea what to expect! :S getting kinda nervous…

@unholygrail
i got an invitation for the interview as well…on the 18th of april…
im praying they wont make it difficult for us…haha

If you are accepted, do you get notified by email or do you have to check on their website?

@Addie91
Yours is dentistry too? Mine is on 20th but time is not confirmed yet until they send me a confirmation letter on the 11th. BTW im a non-JUPAS applicant from Malaysia.

Haha some say its a ‘get-to-know-you’ sorta interview but in UK or US, for healthcare-related fields’ interviews are quite vigorous :frowning: Hope HKU isn’t hahaha

Hey guys, I got a conditional offer to Dual Degree in Management and Technology Program of HKUST. The thing is that although I am working really hard to meet the conditions, I am still very worried that I may not make it. Does HKUST absolutely reject the student if the condition is not met? I am really worried because HKUST is definitely my top and probably the only school choice and it will determine my future…

Thanks

hscho817

HKUST might be willing to take you if you fail to meet your condition, you have to appeal.

@dhawal
hi even i am expecting something close to 92. Hey tell me how did u know that you were waitlisted. Did the university tell u anything about it? I have not recieved any reply from hku but hkust sent me emails asking my marks. Please tell me how do we get to know that we are waitlisted or not. Thanks

@1jupiter99tang2. When I got admitted to HKUST I got notified by email both that I was admitted and that I should check my application status.

CUHK has so far only sent me an offer letter and haven’t changed my status on their website yet.
So I’m pretty sure that they’ll email you either to tell you that you’re admitted or at least that you should check your status.
Hope it answers your question.

@lovelylovelylady. Congrats. Maybe we’ll see each other at CUHK next fall :)

@shaurya16
UST sent me a mail updating my application status. If you want any information, please mail your admissions officer.

Hi, I got an offer from HKUST’s GBUS last month, and have some questions about the program.

When I go to schools abroad as an exchange student, will I decide which school I will attend? or Is it determined by my grade?

It’s similar to question #1, but I want to know what happens when I do internships.

How many international students attend the program? (ex> 10 out of 45)

Workload - How tough is the course? Can I expect the good balance of academic and non-academic life at GBUS?

If there is someone who already study in HKUST, especially GBUS, please answer my questions. Your comments will be extremely helpful!

Thx!

Good luck to everyone waiting for the results!

@unholygrail
Yeah dentistry…im waiting for the confirmation email too…and im also from malaysia hahaha :smiley:
I heard that nus has a manual dexterity test for their dentistry applicants…i wonder if its the same for hku?

@dhawal
Which stream of engineering did u apply for??

I got accepted into NTU chemical engineering. Anyone have any views for that course between HKUST and NTU? I am in a dilemma now as I find both schools’ course attractive.

I will really appreciate any views given.
