HKU or HKUST

any MBBS updates?

@ jbauer
I called yesterday and spoke with the admissions lady, she said there was a larger than normal volume of applicants this year so sorting them out is going to take a little longer than usual. She told me to expect a response anywhere in may

@lilrhule

Thanks for the update.

This means there is going to be a lot of competition!!! This explains why the application process is so slow this year.

@lilhrul: is the extended admission procedure applying only to the mbbs program or to all majors in general?

@MangoAddict
I think she only meant MBBS because thats the only program I mentioned. I dont think it applies to most of the other programmes, probably only those that are known to receive large numbers of applicants

@lilrhule: thanks for the info. that makes me even nervous haha. good luck to you for the mbbs program!

@ Mango Addict
no problem man, you shouldnt be worrying tho you have a sick SAT score! im sure u should get in,if they dont admit you there is no justice in this world. And i doubt I’ll get into MBBS, i dont speak cantonese lol so im really just waiting for them to make a decision for MBBS in hopes that they will just give me Bachelor of Science instead because its my second choice and the admissions lady said they can only give you the second choice when they come to a decision on the 1st

HII to all appliants of HKU and HKUST! I am a newbie here and would just like to know who has applied to biomedical engineering for 2011 in HKU? If so, have you heard anything from HKU yet?
Please asap :)

Hi everyone! I wonder how HKU/UST will inform us of the results?

Am in a similar situation. I trashed my class 11 as 100% focus was on JEE. But I just received my conditional offer for BSc and I hope to qualify for the permanent offer. BSc was my first choice.

Hi, I’m so glad to find such great thread!
Has anyone who go through late application hear updates?

HKUST application status just updated with offer.
BSc Global China Studies Firm offer + Scholarship (Full tuition for first year + HKD25000, totalling HKD125000)

still waiting for HKU.

do you guys know whether HKU is more or less generous with their scholarships?

@arniee: congrats!whats the conditional offer?when did you apply?

@sababb, I got a conditional offer of 80% plus in 12th Boards with a 80% plus in Math and Physics each.
So, it should be easy :slight_smile:
Woah, you want to do pure science huh ?
Why not IISc then ?

@sababb - 85%+ in Phy and Math and 75%+ in Chem and English in CBSE. Applied late December.

@dhawal - not sure IISc has the kind of research environment that HKUST can offer. Also the BSc course is a new one this year and intake is via JEE ranking.

@dhawal:thats an easy cinditional offer.will you actually go to hkust?when did you apply?
i forgot to apply at iisc,moreover i hate physics…
@arniee;you applied for bsc in physics or what ???

@sababb: Yup I applied for Physics - I love the subject :)

@Arinee

Congrats on that. I was also planning to apply for physics, but opted for Electronic eng. Did you get any scholarship or aid?

Hi everyone,

Im an international student who has applied to HKU and CUHK.
About 1 week ago, I had a telephone interview with CUHK, but I still haven’t heard anything back from HKU (all three choices under consideration). Has anyone applied to HKU BBA (IS), or BSS and heard back? Thanks in advance! ASDFJHKL so anxious. :)

I agree; do you think hearing no replies from a school till this late indicates automatic rejection? :confused: let’s hope for the best! and if you don’t mind, what was your first choice for HKU major?
