does anyone here know if there are some quotas available for some specific groups, like internationals quota or something? 'coz i heard from a ust student that even if ust doesnt admit that there any sorts of quota implied to admission, past records have shown otherwise… any thoughts?

@lilrhule
Lol that’s true. I can march into the UBC admissions office right now xD
But I only applied to HK <3

Any chance to BSc of HKU with SAT1 of 2120 and SAT2 of 2370?

If HKU looked at SAT scores alone, you should get inn cos I had 2060 in SAT 1 and 2370 and then 2380 in SAT 2. But they might give more weight for ALs and class work. Cos I got in for engineering like 3 weeks ago
Good Luck

@lilrhule-I heard from mcgill first day they released admissions results. That made me be very impressed with their efficiency since I didn’t even submit my stuff that early.

@ very stressed
Thats great, they however took about 4 months to answer me and when they did it was only tell me i didn’t meet their programme requirements cuz they require advanced math and I did advanced physics instead. I suppose it also depends on your school programme because for my setup we do not do exams until may to june and get results in August for the second half (Unit 2 - our exams are split into two units taken in 2 separate years) so each school can basically decide when they think it is necessary to answer applicants from each exam programme type. Same happened to everyone from my school who applied to McGill so im guesssing this is just the way they treat CAPE students

hi, i just found out that I got an offer from CUHK; I had the interview in mid April. However, I still haven’t heard from HKU. Did anyone hear any news about HKU BBA (IS)? or even BSS? Thank you.

@hkinterested

I applied to HKU BBA(IS) as well, still haven’t heard anything from them yet
I wonder if anyone’s heard from them?

@lilrhule
really.they’re taking ages now.if i remembered right you applied to dentistry? and your second choice was BSc? i’m BSc too applied for food and nutritional sciences. have you done your interview? sorry my memory is failing me after catching up on 20+ pages of the thread.
i hope you’ll hear real soon from HKU! :D

@lovelylovelylady
lol UBC is very diverse. and all the extra money almost always comes from internationals ;p how did you come to choose HK over all the other canadian universities?

@verystressed
hey! how did the campus tour go? did it impress you enough to make a decision? :D

MBBS people

nothing this week…

Thank u! Do u get any scholarships?

@EngStu1
Thank u! Do u get any scholarships?

Hi guys!

I was wondering what halls all of you fellow future HKU students are applying to. My choice was:

St. Johns

Starr hall

Ricci hall

I really wanted to go to a hall with a lot of international students (since I don’t speak any Cantonese). I made the right choice right?

@rissah

Lol that’s an interesting question. Ontario is too cold; not Quebec since I don’t speak much French; and living in BC for so long makes me wanna go somewhere with more people xP

@ rissah
Actually my first choice was MBBS, but i didn’t know you had to speak cantonese to get in when i first applied lol So im guessing thats not gonna happen since i dont speak any. I really want to get into the BSc Prgramme in some typeofBiology or Life Science.
@Jbauer24
I know…still patiently waiting. If i dont hear anything by friday i’m gonna have to call them cuz HKUST gave me a deadline of May 18 and they said I have to pay adeposit…I dont know whats gonna happen to me if i dont hear before then and then i get in after…cuz my mom said she is not going to let that 10,000 deposit go to waste.

@Casper. Starr Hall should have the most international students on campus. Next is probably Simon K y Lee.

@Prophetvilla. Yea. Your stats should be good. I’m in BSC. We could talk more.

@lovelylovelylady
i totally agree with you on ontario and montreal.i’ve already given up waiting on mcgill after i heard their winters can go down to the negatives.my tropical skin cant take extreme weathers too well.
i would love to visit vancouver though
what major did you apply for?

@lilrhule
really?my friend asked HKU about the MBBS before…they never mentioned cantonese is a requirement.perhaps it’s an unwritten rule :S
ahh biology…i think zhuangzi is also going into biology. haha but it’ll be great if you get an offer from BSc, i might see you in class :D

@casper1991
starr hall has the most international students…but i think you dont really need cantonese to get by on campus.i was in HK a couple of months ago and the young people there speak mandarin and decent english
i applied to
- starr hall
- lee shau kee
- suen chi sun

@Rissah+lilrhule. Probably Biology. haven’t decided yet. but will definitely be seeing each other!

Hey, can someone please tell me if HKU and HKUST accept intl transfer students, and if yes, when is the deadline to apply? I can’t find that information on their websites.

Any further information about transferring there is appreciated as well:)

Hey guys, regarding hall application, anyone know what are the procedures for local non jupas? Many thanks!!
