HKU or HKUST

@zhuangzi and @rissa
That’s if I get into HKU XD hehe still waiting patiently…but i’ll definitely be going to HKUST for BSc for 3 years if I dont get into HKU…still crossing my fingers

@rissah

I’ll be doing IBBA at CUHK. xP

@zhuangzi and rissah,

how many halls can we choose? i think my first choice will be starr hall, but i don know about my 2nd choice… is St. John’s college only for ppl doing masters??

@kevobest

On the application they ask you to choose your top 3 hall choices. I think St. John’s College is not only offered to those who are pursuing their master’s degree at HKU; it should also be offered to undergraduates. :)

@rissah-you can say the tour changed my mind. IN a good way or bad way, you can interpret it. :)

@kevobest. Three choices max. SJC has an undergrad wing + post grad wing. you could definitely apply there.

im sorry if this sounds really dumb but how do we accept our offer online for HKUST? I don’t see any option to click accept or anything

@ everyone
I didn’t see any application for any hall…? Do you fill out this AFTER you are accepted?

@lilrhule

Yeah, you fill out an application for halls after you are accepted, as on the application it asks you for your program of study at HKU.

Any Pakistani going to HKUST this year? :)

@uhneetuh
Ok, thanks for the info.
Btw I know this is highly unlikely but because i am now seeing shaikh123’s question
Any West Indian/Caribbean going to HKU or HKUST this year?
Or…any Africans or Latin American peoplez?

transfer students apply via the same way as first year undergrads. just check out the faqs, i think they do explain it there.

Thanks rainbow, I have looked at the faqs but it does not say anything about transfer deadline. Only deadlines mentioned are for freshmen, and they have already passed!

@transferring2

All HK universities consider transfer student same as the freshman student, same admission application, same deadline and same process. But the applicant’s academic records in their university studies will take into account by admission office. Credit transfer matter will only discuss once a formal admission offer had been given, case by case.

Thanks davidlau, so that means the deadline for fall transfer has passed, and I can’t apply!

QUESTION TO ALL: is it true that HKU will only update our admission status every saturday? (this was stated in another forum…so just wanted to make sure)
please reply asap thanks

Mbbs people

someone got an interview today

Interview is on june 10

he got the invitation by phone

@jbauer…well thats interesting…i called the ppl about my situation at HKU. Lady told me if I havent gotten in now (I’m a high school student) then i prolly wont be getting in at all cuz the first round of high school students have already been interviewed. Now i’m not too sad about that, cuz i wasn’t counting on getting in but I wish the BSc faculty would just answer me and telling me if i’m getting in or not! I’m going to have to go to HKUST which I don’t mind but I like HKU a little more.

@lilrhule

do you know anything abt people that r currently in university?
