@hulkhogan88888 yeah. maybe i won’t submit my toefl score. :P

@Fluffy - If you get offered an interview for HKU IBGM, try and do really well on that - on the other hand, if you are thinking about UST’s GBUS, the requirement is slightly lower than that of IBGM, and you might get offered more scholarships too. Again, great performance in interview is required.

BBA in Marketing in HKU is comparatively easier to get in, you would be applying via the BBA scheme and then declaring it as a major in your second/third year. I suggest you submit your applications asap as competition is fierce for the programs you desire to get in.

@ukraine: If you’d like my perspective on your chances on law, I’ll be happy to give it privately.

@TheGrand thank you so much for sharing. really appreciate it WOW i never knew submitting my application forms early can improve my chance. I still have to wait for my second sitting SAT result. its comming out in less than 2 weeks. gahhh. again, thank you :)

Hello,
My name is Peter. I am from Bulgaria- a small Balkan country. I want to ask some questions?
Do the HK universities accept Bulgarian high school diploma?
Is it important to take SAT exam?
Are 93 points on TOEFL iBT a good score?
P.S. I would like to study economics.
Thank you

@petro: I would certainly believe they accept applications from Bulgaria. My advice though is to take SAT if you believe you will do well in it, because afterall I presume few applications will be submitted from your country. Taking the SAT will allow you to become more comparable with other worldwide applicants, and of course put you over the bench should you do well. Try and hit the 1800s as a start. Most international students who apply to the faculty of business and economics have three digit ibt scores - if thats what you like to compare.

Thank you for your answer very much.
Do you think I will have better chances if I apply to CityU and PolyU ?

@petro: Sure. But if you ask me, for a better international experience and slightly more well rounded education you should really try getting into HKU/UST, before considering CUHK, CityU and Poly U. - just my perspective

Firstly, I planned to submit documents to HKU, CUHK and CUHK. I applied on line to CUHK. Soon after that, I checked some of the comments here and realized that if I apply to UST and HKU, my chances will be dismal. I think that PolyU and CityU are good alternatives for me. After all, I shouldn’t overrate myself.

American Student applying to HKU, HKUST, CUHK
Hey, so I’m a student from California, U.S. who has around A- average throughout my past years in high school. Im a senior now and my parents just recently encouraged me to apply to these universities. Im Chinese, (speaks cantonese fluently) and mandarin is so-so(like some people in Hong Kong), my chinese reading ability is so-so, im able to read a newspaper and know its whats its talking about, but not necessarily know how to pronounce/know the meaning of every word. My SAT is 2050 with SAt Math II 800, SAT Chinese 800, SAT Physics 760. My school is competitive and is a IB school, although I do not do diploma, i do all HL classes. I have a decent amount of extracurriculars. I’m thinking of applying to Actuarial Science or Engineering. What are my chances?

@petro: Some majors in those universities are less competitive - if would consider that. Bachelor of Arts for example. Good luck

@Somekid: Assuming you will be hitting the higher scores in the IB HLs, I’d say you have a pretty high chance in getting into the (single major) engineering programs. Probably not into Actuarial Science in HKU as they take typically admit from the top 3% of students and marginal for the Dual program in Tech & Mgmt for UST.

Hey guys! I think you know, but just wanted to make sure: application status check starts on 22 of December good luck everyone!

I have a question, because I am not doing IB Diploma, (im doing all HL) if i am accepted, do i graudate in 3 years or 4? Because at a regular American college, you have to graduate in 4 years. I would really like to graduate in 3 years, but if i cant i just wanna know if they would allow 3 years if you had diploma at either HKU, HKUST, or CUHK.

@TheGrand: Thanks! But where should i apply to for a higher chance for Actuarial Science? HKU, HKUST, or CUHK.

Hi guys…I am new to this forum so i am not sure am i in the right place or not…plx forgive me if i am not ^ ^
I wish to apply for medical school of HKU…anyone know what’s the IB score required for it?

Just got acceptance email from HKU Engineering (4 year) without scholarship.

@jcw895
congratulations man! im just curious were you interviewed or no? I didnt think my grades were strong enough to get in so i was very surprised when they interviewed me

It is a conditional offer though.
I got telephone interview by Engineering on Nov 22. I did not get interview by Sci Department (3rd choice) though. Wish I have offer from Science too as a back up. I am afraid Engineering will revoke the offer if I score less than 4 in AP Physics or Calculus BC in July 2012. What happens then?

Hey everyone I’m an international applicant from India and I’m considering applying for BofJournalism in HKU. Is it a good idea to pursue Journalism in HKU or is it only good for Science and Engineering programs? Any insight would be appreciated.

Also, congratulations jcw895!

@jcw895 congrats! did you apply for fast Track?

why is the system still not up???

Got into hku engineering conditional offer
