I’m pretty sure City’s (HK) business arent as good as HKU/UST. And its not necessarily true about the newer programme… Though your right on the all roundedness of things

uhhwilliam: I’d think high prob for CUHK, did you apply for general BBA or BBA A&F?, if its the latter I’d say a high chance too. General BBA is more unpredictable because of a small numbers they are taking in.

-veethiv: Just send them in, each faculty process applications at varying dates from Jan through April, I’d think this year its inclined towards the earlier months though.

@TheGrand thanks for your reply. Does it mean almost impossible to get into HKU general BBA program with the results I have to offer? I’m hoping for general bba for both by the way. le sigh better keep my fingers crossed then lol

@TheGrand Well, it’s not necessarily that one is better or worse than another. HKUST has a good reputation on the overall, but people who study business know that their aim is mainly get into City U. Yes, it’s partly due to the fact that it’s seemingly easier to get into, but it’s also currently the most reputable. Just like how CU’s chinese program is supposed to be the best, but who knew a less-reputable uni like Lingnan would actually have the best Chinese bachelors out there.

@uhhwilliam, I agree that it might be seemingly hard to get into the business program for HKU, but I do think you have a shot anyways. You do have a good shot at CU, though personally speaking, for business, I would pick HKU over CU for sure.

I’m planning to transfer to either HKU or HKUST for my second year of college as an engineering major. I am currently attending an American college and will try to apply as an international student for my second year.

I’m not sure what score requirements are needed for HKU or HKUST INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS… but here are my scores.

SAT I: 1910
SAT 2 Math: 710
SAT 2 Biology: 700
SAT 2 Chem: 730
AP Physics B: 4
AP Calculus AB: 4
AP Biology: 4
AP Chemistry: 3
High School GPA: 3.57

Any comments will be nice! because I can’t find any information statistics on the HKU/HKUST site? Is it true that it is easier to get in as an International?

hi, im new to this, but ive actually read almost the whole thread ><

I’ve just been given a conditional offer for HKU’s BBA(IBGM), but I got an offer from Oxford a couple of weeks ago, and now I’m not sure which to pick…can anyone help??

Also, do you know if the $20000 deposit will be refunded if you don’t make the grades?

Actually i think the $20000 deposit WILL BE REFUNDED if you don’t make the grades.
The admission letter stated that “The deposit paid shall not be refunded, except to a candidate admitted provisionally who subsequently fails to satisfy the requirements for admission”

hey guys… i got interview with HKU next week… but i never did interview in my life before… anyone can tell me what this is about? what do they ask?
also does this mean i am shortlisted applicant?? thx

Hi everyone, I am a new member here and I have a couple questions about the admissions of HKU. I have read most of the threads and I am starting to worry about my chances of getting into HKU, because that’s the only university in Hong Kong that I am applying to. I am applying through the regular local Non-JUPAS scheme and I am shooting for the Law program. I have been studying in America for four years.

I have a comparative low SAT scores because I really suck at standardized testing. Here are my scores:
SAT I: 1930
SAT II US Hist: 710
SAT II Latin: 630
SAT II Chinese: 790
AP US Hist: 5
AP Euro Hist: 5
AP English Lit: 3

I have participated in Student government, tutoring a second language, internship at a law office, volunteer at a couple places and some club activities.

What do you think is my chance of getting in this university?

P.S. I have missed the scholarship/financial aid deadline by mistake and do you think they will accept any late registration?

Interview common questions:
Tell me something about yourself
why u want to study in HK?
Why HKU?
Tell me what u know about the faculty you are applying
any questions for me?
tell me your strength and weakness.

I got into CUHK!!! but does the scholarship letter come with the offer letter or seperately?
I have got the offer for BBA but theres nothing about scholarship… do you guys know when the scholarship letter come out? Thanks
