HKU or HKUST

Can anyone tell me the difference between 3 and 4 year curriculum in HKUST. Being GCE A level student, I applied under 3 year curriculum. However, yesterday I got an email which said 4 year curriculum would be more suitable for me. Has anyone received such email?

@salad93 I apply as a CUHK final year student. I still do not receive any news. But did you have an interview already? And are you a HK student?

@annababy
I have not had an interview yet as the faculty officer told me that they are still processing applicants who applied through the normal route (as in they are not late applicants). I am not a HK student, I’m an international student from Singapore.

@salad93
If you get an interview or any news, please tell me^^
And I would also exchange information with you

@Ornima
yeah, me too, but from HKU. I’m not sure about HKUST though. but i think you can transfer credits from your A level results unless it’s stated in your letter that it’s confirmed that you have to enter the four year programme. sorry that I can’t be much of a help!

@annababy
Yup, I’ll update you should I get updates. Anyway have you had an interview yet?

btw, anyone applied for the BA programme in HKU? i’ve got an offer for the four year programme and would like to know how the course is like. Thanks!!

@salad93
No…
Have you sent any email to the office lady Ms Joyce Chan? She can answer many questions for Dentistry admission. (jpschan@hku.hk)

@annababy
I have not emailed Ms Joyce Chan though, I emailed the general admissions office. Alright, I shall ask her about the application. Thank you so very much. Don’t worry, I am sure we will have an interview soon:):)

Hello. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer from The University of Hong Kong to USA? Is it hard to do it since these are two completely different countries?!

hello. I applied to HKU, HKUST, and CUHK for business programs during the regular application period. I haven’t heard from them yet and my status still says my application is under consideration. What does this mean? Should i still hope for something? thank you so much :)

@Fluffynoly Hi.Well like you, I have also applied to this three universities during the regular application period (actually very close to deadline)for engineering program. Hku declared my decision on March but cuhk took a long time. I got my result three days ago. One thing I would say is that don’t rely on the application status. Like, I have already received my offer but my cuhk status says still under consideration. From what I have seen, they usually notify the result through email first. Since your application is still under consideration but not rejected,there might be a ray of hope. I would suggest you to mail them and see what they say. And yes if you have offer from any other university,tell them about it. Best of luck… :)

Hey man, any updates or offers from hk or bc?

My HKU application status shows that my admission is “subject to confirmation by formal letter from the faculty concerned”. Do they sent it by email or by post? And usually when? Has anyone already received it?

@linsanity
My ubc status is still “wait for the spring mark”, and just did an interview with poly u, heard nothing back from any of the unis in hk. I kinda updated my term 2 marks for hkust and cuhk. What about you, any updates? btw, i dunno if i have asked this before, are you an international student of non-jupas

@xm9413
i got mine as well frm the faculty of arts! They will send it by email. Mine says that i have already satisfied all conditions and no further requirements are needed. It will probably take a few days for them to send the email. Did u get a conditional offer or a firm admission offer?

@ornima Thank you so much! i will do that. :)

@faussy
Congrats on your offer! I got a conditional offer from the faculty of science. The condition is that I submit an officially certified copy of my TOEFL results. It should be no problem but I submitted that after the deadline!!! I am so worried about it!!! I emailed them about it but receive no reply. Wish me luck anyway.

@ FluffyNoly You are welcome…Best of Luck… :)

hello…I got an offer from HKUST as well as NTU (both with scholarship). Which uni do you think is better for Physics?
