HKU or HKUST

@aditya- You seem to love HK!! Did you get an interview call from HKU?

I have applied only in hku and some colleges in US!!

Please chance me for HKU. My stats are:

O levels- 7As and 3 A’s
AS levels- 1 A and 2 A’s
SAT 1 - 2030
SAT 2- 2310 ( 760 phy, 770 chem, 780 math2)
TOEFL- 103
Some Extra Curriculars too.

I did not get an interview call from hku and that is making me worried. Can I hope to get into hku with good scholarship?

And I have applied for bachelor in Engineering. Please guys chance me for HKU!!

Did he receive any interview form engineering department?
I think my grades is not low. I have As in AS level, decent predicted AL grades and 5s in APs.
I did not get any interview yet. I am in main route.
I am very worry since next week is estimated date of result release, but I have not interview yet!!!

@SAT456 - You shouldn’t worry if you were not called for an interview. Not every applicant gets an interview. And not getting an interview does not imply impending rejection. You’ve decent stats and, therefore, a good shot at HKU. Good luck!

@Sizp0610- yes, he did receive an interview call from Engineering department!!

@cricketfreak@- let’s hope for the best!!

@SAT456 - Who is this friend of yours? What’s his username here? Haha!

@SAT456

Is your friend Indian and a CBSE applicant?

I heard of some neighbours of mine getting interview calls but thought they were just messing with me. Now I’m worried

@jackrabbit429- No, my friend is a Pakistani!!

I have heard that CBSE applicants usually don’t get interview calls. Anyways, Good Luck to you!!

hello, i’m thinking about applying to HKUST, do you think i can still apply right now? or is it too late

@guitarchampion- you can send in the late application. The deadline for late applications is 31st march for HKUST!! But, do check the website before applying. I think they allow late applications for certain courses only. Good Luck!!

@elisexia Hi Elise, have you got any results for your application?? 2 of my friends, who also applied BJ in fast track have been rejected by the programme:( Mine is still ‘under consideration’ I think i have been throwed into the mainround ocean…

@lavene I am in the same situation as you. I think we have to wait for the main round. How come your friends are being rejected?
So probably we might stand a chance to get in, as least we are not being rejected at this pt of time. Hope for the best!!!>.<"

^ the state of them in the website is 'unsuccessful’ …yea maybe we should be optimistic as we are still being considered ;)

1 of my classmates who applied for journalism (BJ is journalism right?) got an unconditional offer and lots of scholarship. I am not allowed to speak of the scholarship but lets just say its something like 100 minus the number of states in India is what he was offered

@ lavene May be they still waiting for the last few application before the late applications for BJ end. You have not gotten your results right?

@ jackrabbit420 Yea, That’s alot! BTW, does your classmate apply with his/her actual result? How is your classmate’s grades if you dont mind sharing. Thanks.

Becos I heard from my interviewer that they actually need our actual grades before they can make a decision. He said that it is not easier to get in unless the student is really good.

hello all i got an offer from HKUST B&M and was rejected by GBUS. I tried to appeal but they said they wouldn’t accept me. I’m still struggling if I should pay my deposit fee since it’s quite a lot. PS: I’m a local student in an international school.

@Elisexia Well Im sure she DID NOT use actual IB scores because she doesnt have the scores yet. We will get our actual scores in July just like everyone else.

Also, she does have very very good IB predicted grades but her 11th grade marks are pretty bad (28 IB points excluding bonus).

One more thing to note is that she was a world topper in 10th grade English Literature.

@elisexia No i haven’t. BTW i also applied NTU last week~~is it hard to enter for international students?

@jackrabbit420 That’s really good! I’m getting my A level result soon! Hope for the best!

@lavene Oic ! I heard from my seniors that for Local Universities in SG, they take in local students, then intl students. But if u have good grades, this shld be no problem. NTU generally is easier to get into than NUS!

@Elisexia Good Luck!

One more thing, do you know anything about what typical IB offers for international students are for engineering at NUS?
